I can’t sing Dr. Campbell‘s praises enough! In order to make sure my treatment was as on point as possible, she called my general practitioner so that they could compare notes and thoughts. It’s very rare when you can get a doctor this thorough. I would recommend Dr. Campbell to anyone for any dermatological need.
Customer service at the front desk was amazing! The visit with the Nurse Practitioner, not so much. I felt rushed. She kept prescribing medication but failed to explain the use of the medication and how it could help with my concern. She didn’t bother to ask about any over the counter treatment I was using to fade dark marks and how it could possibly interact with the medication she prescribed. I also felt like disregarded in general. Not a lot of questions were asked of me. It’s unfortunate. NP: Ying Yang.
I need to share this because I don’t want someone to make the same mistake as me. First of all I am medical professional in a hospital setting. I do not share that I’m a nurse when I go to visits. This is not my area of expertise, so I like to sit back and listen. I was greeted by Karen NP for my visit today. She had her Nurse Kelly assisting her. I would like to preface, I have been having new skin issues for a few months now. I waited to see if I could take matters into my own hands before being seen. Changed my lifestyle and diet and no change. I was asked what my chief complaint and told her about my new skin issues. I thought being a new patient meant taking the time to know the patients history, I guess not. I felt like I was gaslighted about my situation and was just a number. I was told that I had eczema and I was told here take this med and I’ll see you in 3 weeks. I could have mentioned my background (RN) but I chose to keep my mouth quiet. I was actually very surprised that a NP could be so dismissive. I chose her because I felt that her nursing background would give more empathy and understanding and time to understand my problem. I was assessed in 5 minutes for a person who has a long term chronic skin conditions. As a nurse, I could never allow someone to take care of me who doesn’t show as much compassion and empathy as much as I do in my patients. As a new patient I don’t think anyone should feel rushed, especially when you are already anxious. Take the time to know your patients, so you can help them through their problems. They are coming to you for a reason. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
In general was good. We understand the time for the specialist is limited by the quantity of patients but will be good to shows during the visit the patient received enough time for her/him and not have a feeling as their are part of one set of numbers that needs to pass quick and goes to the next.
The staff, assistant and My Doctor were all awesome. Check in/check out was fast and easy. Dr Schafrank is wonderful. Very caring, friendly and fully explains everything. A wonderful experience.
