My husband requested a biopsy for a few suspicious spots and was denied. Provider Langston said the spots were eczema and was not medically necessary for a biopsy. She also said that it couldn't be fungal because it wasn't near his groin. She told him to see an allergist, ENT, and take Zyrtec. What the absolute hell is going on? When did it become OK to deny any testing to a patient when they are trying to get answers on chronic skin issues? I called and asked if they did biopsies for questionable spots and if the provider would deny even if the patient is insistent on testing. They said no, the providers are flexible and if the patient is asking for it out if concern, they do testing. I told the person on the phone what happened to my husband and how unacceptable it is to just dismiss his requests. If providers are jaded and don't want to help patients, they shouldn't do the job.
Unfortunately they have canceled appointments twice in our family. It’s months to wait and then they twice have left a voicemail to cancel. One voicemail. Maybe they should think about texting or recalling before we drive all the way over here. It’s disappointing and common. And it kind of feels like it’s your problem when you get here. Check your voicemails!
Staff was nice enough, but the communication from Dr. Bene was not great. She removed basil cell from my ear. Afterwards my ear was sticking out a little more than the other. I called her office and the nurse assured me that it would go back to normal. When I got the stitches taken out I mentioned to Dr. Bene that it was still sticking out a bit more than the other, she responded with, “oh, no it’s not”. I’ve been looking at my face for 52 years I know if one ear is different from what it was before. And it is still sticking out about 1/8 of an inch more. The way it had to be stitched up it is kind of understandable, but I wish she had the knowledge to talk to me about that prior to the procedure. Then to put the icing on the cake, this morning I looked and thought I had some skin or scab where they took out the basil cell. Nope, it was where she missed taking out a stitch. I would not recommend going here. You are better off to search for someone else.
My son has been seen by Monica 3 times for over a year for severe acne. She gave him a regimen which clearly wasn’t working. I brought him back with proof of it not working and was rudely asked if we were following the regimen she provided (which he was following religiously because he wanted it gone). I asked if he was a candidate for Accutane and she said no because his acne was hormonal. Long story short, got a second opinion and he was a candidate for Accutane. Wasted over a year at this place with no results. Moral of the story…Always get a second opinion!
I came into this place for eczema because it was the only one with immediate availability and now I know why. The doctor that saw me tried saying it was ringworm. Prescribed me with fungal cream. Fast forward months later of that cream not working nor the other ridiculous ones they gave me, I decide to go to my allergist and they determine it is eczema and put me on Dupixent. This place would rather give you lip fillers and Botox then the help you truly need. It is shameful.
