Prisma Health Carolina Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics–Patewood

My wife made an appointment over a year ago to have a consultation here, and everybody neglected to tell her she had to sign up for some OTHER service to be able to even be seen. After waiting for a year her appointment got canceled a week before and they said she failed to go through a service not one person told her was required during this whole year of waiting. I don't even want her to go here anymore anyway knowing staff is already this neglectful and uncaring about their patients.

UPDATE: My husband can’t even lift his grandson. Can’t lift his arm above his shoulder. Can’t rotate his arm. This office denied him physical therapy. Cleared him to go back to work asap. & told him that if he can’t do his job, to have his manager call them to tell them that. My husband works for a warehouse that deals with commercial supplies. He’s on a lift 3 stories high, lifting above his head, lifting 50+ pounds. The lady that called him to update him of being cleared, was a smarty pants & asked him if he’s been back to work yet after my husband stated he couldn’t. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMED THIS JOKE OF A PRACTICE. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This place can’t be serious. The quality of service they offer to patients in recovery is nothing to be proud of. My husband had a tumor removed by Dr. Bolton(amazing!) and Dr. Lobb came in after to do reconstructive surgery. Great. While in the hospital in recovery, Dr Lobb told my husband & I that his team is wonderful with handling patients dealing with short term disability. What a joke! The initial paperwork to get things started, yes it was done to satisfactory. But with disability, you have to keep updating them right. So we go in person on a Friday to drop off the paperwork to be filled out & faxed back. They said they received it yesterday and that they would get to it the following week. Why? It would take 5 mins to fill it out & even less to fax. I explained the disability was set to end on the following Monday. Again was told they’d get to it Monday. Nope, they didn’t. They didn’t get to it till that Thursday! (Information told to us from my husbands case manager.) but mind you, prior to finding that out, I had already called Dr lobbs office & they apparently sent the paper to the wrong fax number…. 3 days after the day they said they would send it. The fax number is on the paper!! Not only that, they could look back to confirm the number from the initial paper work they sent over. So the lady I spoke to (not empathetic in any way shape or form) said she would handle them & there. Ha. She sent DUPLICATE info down to the date. Didn’t update any information whatsoever ever. So the case manager calls my husband to let him know she can’t expect duplicate information. I mean what is really going on at the office? Patients are already dealing with enough trauma & stress. The last thing we need to worry about is income. Which this office is playing with at this point. Very unprofessional. Unsatisfactory. Disappointing. Things like this make people second guess taking care of health issue for the fear of the recovery. :(

I have been so pleased working with this practice. Communications and scheduling has been excellent. The surgeons and nursing staff are thoughtful and patient. I have other options closer to home (I drive 2 hours for appointments) but I would not even considered another practice. Their professionalism and compassion is beyond anything I would have ever expected.

My son suffered a gunshot wound to the face / head and was taken to the ER at Prisma. Three days later Dr Boland performed a debridement and closure of the area and wound. He was very informative and cared for my child in a very professional and sympathetic manner. Also after surgery he and his staff ( including Tabitha Moore) answered any and all email messages and calls about certain concerns we had while my son was healing. I can't thank them all enough! I would and will fully recommend this man to anyone that needs any type of cosmetic or reconstructive surgery done! THANK YOU DR BOLAND!!!

Furious doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about this place. My child was referred out since November 11th, 2022 by her pediatrician for an appointment here. I called today to verify the time. They informed me that they canceled her appointment and many others because it wasn't "high on their priority list". I was never informed or received a phone call of this and they lied and said they did. Excuse me, we waited patiently for almost a year! If it wasn't important and a big factor to ensure my child has a quality of life, we would've never been given a referral. I forgot that this is more about big business instead of health care anymore. Doctors don't really care about their patients. You're better off finding another doctor with their own private practice that will do a better job and give better care than this facility.
