Johnson City Eye Clinic and Surgery Center

I am extremely grateful for everyone that works at the Johnson city eye clinic. I had cataract surgery yesterday and what an amazing experience. The entire staff was very professional and made this experience very easy. We are very blessed to have this clinic in our area . Doctor Lauren Rushing and her post op tech are excellent .

Very disappointed that when I got there for my appointment they told me they don't take vision insurance. They billed me $700 for my routine eye exam, and never disclosed the cost beforehand.. That's not an exaggeration. They did nothing out of routine eye exam and charged me $700. Once taken in for my exam I was probably there for less than an hour total. That's a pretty expensive hour for just a checkup on my eyes. I had no complications, and nothing other than a routine eyeglass prescription which has been the same for many years. I just went for preventative checkup. Won't make that mistake again there. I should have read the recent reviews. 12 of the last 14 (before mine) were 1 star of 5. Maybe they used to be good and rely on that. But clearly they're not doing what people want anymore.

I don’t normally leave reviews but the wait times are ridiculous! I went here for my two year old daughter to be seen we got there at 10:30. So many people were in the waiting room. There was no where to sit. We got called back and saw a nurse. Every one was nice! Then we left the room and were sat in another room. I sat in that room for 2 hours. Had I known this appointment would take all day I was have packed snacks for my daughter or scheduled for a better time but I was talk with another person and they said it took four hours their first visit. (That’s insane to me) so after waiting two and half hours to be seen I went to speak with the front desk and noticed patients that had been called way before me were still waiting and my daughter was screaming and upset so I decided just to leave. I would have scheduled this appointment well after her nap to to be prepared but either way 2 1/2 hours up to 4 hours to see a doctor is ridiculous. We will be finding another place to be seen

You wait then herded to a center waiting area lights that are out very depressing and with dilation and patients with vision loss come on management there's enough money being made redo that space. The wait time is ridiculous check in check out being called while waiting you can't even hear the staff. It's a back and forth criss cross if you have a walker wheel chair or balance problem have someone with you.

We were referred here for a clogged tear duct in my one year old. I stood in the waiting room for an hour holding him, as there were no seats available. After that, they took us back to another waiting room, where I continued to stand holding my child for another 45 minutes. During this time, a nurse asked me if I wanted to have his eyes dilated, but told me it wasn’t necessary, so I said no. When I finally got into a room, I waited another 20 minutes. Dr Carlson finally came in, and barely glanced at my child. He simply said that because his eyes weren’t dilated he couldn’t do anything. He didn’t even look in his direction. He was in the room for all of 2 minutes, and then rushed out, already talking to the nurse about his next patient. When I checked out, I was told to make another appointment, but there were no spots available so I was told “we will figure it and call you to let you know when we can see you”. His condition cleared on its own after months, no thanks to Dr Carlson and JC Eye Clinic.
