My experience at this clinic has been nothing but stress. I was referred here by my insurance co and Doctor. I saw the reviews but wanted to give my own assessment, so I continued with the appointment. Not long after my arrival I was able to see how accurate the reviews were. The receptionist is not very welcoming. Most of the time she’s not even as her desk to sign people in. I waited 15 minutes just for someone to acknowledge me and check me in (This happened at my follow up as well). Once I was in a room with the Dr, he was so rude to the medical assistant. The Dr belittled him in front of patients which is very unprofessional. He was “teaching” the medical assistant but it was very condescending. I didn’t appreciate this behavior in my presence. It was awkward and very inappropriate. I hope that medical assistant finds a new work environment. Because he was really nice and professional. I don’t trust people that treats their staff horribly and disrespectfully. As far as treatment as a patient. I was disappointed by the treatment plan. He pushed products on me such as window tint, sunglasses, and hats that he sold in office. The products I did ended up purchasing ruined my skin. They were also alot cheaper on Amazon so don’t buy their overpriced products!!!! I will not be returning for another follow up. I gave this clinic 2 chances and both times were disappointing. I ended up leaving the room after I waited in there for over an hour. Overall this place really needs better training from an outside observer. The Dr is nice and knowledgeable to patients. But it takes alot more than that to create a more welcoming and functioning patient experience. This place needs to do better for their patients and staff.
The majority of the reviews are correct and I wish I would have read them prior to coming to this location. I’ve been sitting in the waiting area for THREE hours now. I’ve watched the receptionist take a lunch break and return. When I begin to ask the receptionist about my wait time, she rudely cut my questions off with her replies. She seemed more irritated with me asking how much longer will it take to be seen, than I was after sitting here for 3 hours. Immediately calling to have my referral sent to a different location. After asking the receptionist how much longer, she stated I was next. The gentleman calling patients still proceeded to call another lady before me. I returned to the desk to cancel the appointment and magically there was a room available.
This was the ONLY dermatology clinic in all of El Paso that took me in as a same day walk in. Although the wait was about 2 hours, that was to be expected. They have signs throughout the office stating that they are understaffed, but I didn't mind not one bit . The level of care I received was exceptional! Dr.Peter Herman is caring, sweet, professional, knowledgeable, thorough, even funny! Please pay no mind to the negative ratings, these people are clearly entitled A holes, doctor appointments are normally long so expect that and don't be a "karen". Thank you for your expertise your staff was small but amazing!
Arrived 30 minutes early to not be acknowledged or welcomed until 20 minutes pasted my arrival. Then I had to fill out paperwork which should’ve been given to when I first checked in. Then as I asked how much longer I was told that I had 3 people ahead of me which is crazy to think when I arrived before the three that showed up. My appointment was scheduled for 10am and it’s been over an hour waiting. No respect for your time.
This place is AWFUL. My appt was scheduled for 1:15. Got there a couple minutes early and checked in. At 2:45 I walked up and asked how much longer and was told there were still 3 people in front of me. While the woman at reception was incredibly kind and understanding of my 2 small children being upset… I had to walk out and call Tricare to change my referral ELSEWHERE. I waited maybe 3 weeks for this appt that I did really need just for it to be a complete FLOP. DO NOT GO HERE.
