Westlake Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery - Georgetown

I highly recommend Westlake Dermatology. The Doctors I have seen from Cedar Park and Georgetown are very friendly and patient. I am very happy with most of the services I have received, specially those provided by the Doctors. I would not recommend the cool sculpting, it was definitely a waste of money; but that is not related to the esthetician or the practice staff. I have gone back for other appointments and will continue to do so for trusted services.

I am writing to express my frustration with the office staff and the difficulty I’ve had scheduling an appointment. I was charged for two no-shows, yet I never received a confirmation when I initially scheduled those appointments. Despite leaving multiple messages about the scheduling issues, I had to visit the office in person just to secure an appointment. Once I scheduled in person, I showed up as planned. However, on the other occasions when I attempted to book, I never received a confirmation—no text reminders, no email updates—nothing. I have multiple emails documenting my attempts to reach out regarding the appointment process and the lack of updates, yet I was still forced to pay the no-show fees. I understand that the doctor’s schedule is in high demand, but if the failure to confirm appointments and send out reminders is on their end, the fees should have been waived. Their outdated and unreliable system has caused unnecessary frustration, and due to their lack of concern in addressing these issues, I will no longer be using their services. I would also advise others to be cautious, as they seem quick to penalize patients for their own administrative shortcomings. This was a frustrating experience, and a lesson learned—don’t assume this office will provide the basic scheduling confirmations that most medical and dental offices do. For reference, this was an email I sent to Westlake Dermatology on October 6, 2024, notifying them of these appointment issues: "I emailed you guys days ago and have yet to receive a response. Can someone call me please? This is the second time I’ve had trouble reaching your office. I had to come there in person to get my appointment last time…" I hope this matter is addressed so others do not face the same challenges. Even with my outreach months ago mentioning the appointment issues, they refused to admit there were problems and still charged me the no show fees.

I visited Westlake Dermatology the first time for an annual preventative body exam. The facility is new and beautiful. The staff is friendly, helpful and prompt. My male doctor (I am male - 75 years old) was thorough, answered all of my questions, and had a nice sense of humor. Great first experience. I will use Westlake Dermatology moving forward.

I was happy with the service. I was not happy with the billing. I go an invoice stating that I owed $60. The details did not add up or include my copay which was paid at the time of service. I called and went through the call tree and was told twice it was being recorded. An operator finally came on and found the details I was told that I owed nothing. So if the involve looks strange at all don't just pay up.

Dr. Adam Mamelak was extremely skillful and adept in my treatment and had a refreshing sense of humor. The entire staff was welcoming and very organized. The scheduling online provided an appointment for me the next business day! It is a brand new, beautiful office.
