I’m a long time patient of Amy Curtis, but I briefly switched to another provider due to her specializing in the treatments I needed. This office always gave me the run around with insurance, and I was always having to call my insurance myself, which the insurance co said I was basically doing the office’s job. The office was always trying to over bill me. Anyhow, my provider sadly moved away so I had to find someone else to take care of my condition. However I’ve called and probably left 3-4 voicemails to set up an appt with Amy for a separate skin issue and no one has returned my calls. So I guess they don’t want my business. So I’ll take it elsewhere going forward. Horrible customer service.
I have had two of my teens in to see her. She’s a great listener, great eye contact and patient connect. She gave multiple choices for solutions. She double checked with some skin problems in addition to addressing main concerns. Medical assistant took all notes during the visit so everything was properly recorded and ordered.
This was my first time going to a dermatologist and my doctor suggested I see Dr. Amy Curtis. To preface I did bring my four month old baby with me, I had specifically asked ahead of time if it would be a problem to have my baby with me. I was assured it would be okay to have him in the appointment. Making the appointment was quick and easy once I could reach someone on the phone. The first time I called no one answered and no one called me back. I did have to call again to make an appointment. Dr. Curtis was very knowledgeable, but I felt like she talked at me more than with me. She spoke very fast and jumped from subject to subject and I had a hard time remembering what she was saying. I didn’t even have time to think things over so I could ask questions. I felt like she made decisions for me rather than taking time to listen to my concerns (granted I felt like I couldn’t voice them because I didn’t have time to think through them because she wanted to move on so fast). After prescribing some medication, assuring me they would print them and I could decide whether or not to use them within the year, she left. Her MA came back to say she submitted the prescriptions (meaning I didn’t have a say if they got filled) and then she too seemed to be rushing out of the room and backing out as she talked at me. I don’t know if it’s normal for them to talk at patients or they were doing it because I had my baby with me and they just wanted to get out of the room (I did need to hold my baby during the visit, but it was after the quick exam and Dr. Curtis said it would be fine. He wasn’t fussy at all, I was just concerned he would become fussy). The whole appointment was rather unnerving and I left feeling like they didn’t care about me or my conditions. I definitely don’t feel comfortable going back.
Dr. Amy Curtis was great! Thorough and efficient. Will definitely return and hope to have a long patient relationship with her clinic.
Dr Curtis made me feel comfortable and explained everything that she was doing so I didn't have any questions later
