After two visits, one good and one horrible, I wonʻt be going back here again. My first visit went off without a hitch and I got good advise, with a practitioner who treated me like a human being. Sadly, I canʻt say the same about my second visit. I feel I was treated as an object rather than a person while in the treatment room with the practitioner. No smile, overlooked my friendly banter and made zero effort to connect with me, and honestly the practitioner held a look of disgust the entire time I was receiving a routine check-up. I allowed for a male student to accompany to join in on my visit, but honestly the tech didn't fully ask permission, she just said, "A student practitioner will be joining in on this appointment unless you have any objections." When I later asked for the male student to leave the appointment so I could remove my bra for the female practitioner to look over the skin on my chest, I got eye rolls and scoffs from both the practitioner and the male student. Really, really uncomfortable visit. Never going back here, I'll need to find someone else.
This place is an absolute joke. Do not go here! They charged me $150 to drain an abscess behind my ear (in layman’s terms they popped a pimple). It took less than a minute. They billed my insurance $425 and my share was $150. To pop a pimple! If I hadn’t had insurance the self pay bill was $120. So basically I would have paid less if I hadn’t claimed insurance but either way it was completely insane to have to pay that much. Of course they don’t tell you they are going to charge you such an outrageous price before they do it. And good luck trying to get a person on the phone not that would make a difference anyway. I definitely don’t recommend this place. Plus, I had to wait 9 months to get in. And the blemishes on my face that I wanted to removed they couldn’t do and referred me to Dorset Dermatology. At DD, I got in immediately had several facial blemishes lasers and only paid $95. Also, I went to 4 seasons a year prior for an appointment to have a cyst removed on my toe. When I got there, they told me their office doesn’t remove cysts. What!? Then why would they schedule me for an appointment. Save yourself a lot of hassle and just book at Dorset Dermatology.
25 year patient with the same PA until she left last year. My annual skin check in January '25 was disappointing at best! Not thorough in any way, scalp not checked amongst other areas... no comparison to my previous pictures of areas of concern by previous PA. New PA did not look at my chart and even know about the basil cell and squamous cell removal at last appointment. Not once did the new PA take out magnifier to look at any spots (and unfortunately I am covered in them) or areas of previous concern... in and out, rushed and complete lack of patient care. This place has turned into a manufacturing line. Look for a different practice, as I am!
If I could give less than 1 star, I would. The lack of respect that these people have for their patient's time is unconscionable. I was referred by my primary care for something flagged as potentially cancerous 2 months ago. I was told they would call me to schedule. After 3 weeks of no call, I called them. Waited on hold for 45 minutes. I got an answering service who instructed me to leave a message and they would call me. 2 more weeks, no call. Called again, waited on hold again for an hour, finally hung up. Called my primary care who called them again. They said I was "moved to the top of the pile" for a call back. 2 weeks later they finally called. I started telling them my experience with them. Their response "sorry we got new scheduling software and it hasn't worked very well." I guarantee you that if they spent money on one human being to take one day and call their list back they could at least touch base with everyone on it even if it was hundreds of people long. I am explaining to the person who called that this is not a scheduling software problem, it's prioritizing their time over their patient's time and it is clear they just aren't spending enough money on staffing to call people back. As I am saying this, the call ends. Either the person hung up on me, or the call dropped. I called back and left a message. That was a week ago, again no call. When you do get through to their recorded answering machine, it says "please be kind to our hard working staff" -- clearly they are so delinquent in communication that they have had to literally update their machine to warn their mistreated patients not to share their dissatisfaction. In this small Vermont community, it's astounding that any business could treat their customers so horribly.
Quick and easy appointment scheduling in mine. Patient docs easy to complete Check in with professional was efficient and any questions I had were answered clearly. Easy checkout procedure. Only tweak- the person that walked me down the hall and checked my info in the room again used a baby talk voice rather than a normal tone used with adults. Small but something that was a bit off putting.
