I have had a TERRIBLE experience here. I never leave reviews, but my experience with skinDC has been so frustrating. The phones are only answered about 10% of time, I only receive text confirmation and reminders for my appointments for about 1/3 of my appointments, I have received incorrect information and miscommunication between staff leading to me having to come into the office and miss work when this was not actually necessary, etc. If I weren't in the middle of long-term treatment, I would leave to another care provider.
Skin DC is a great place to go. Great doctors, clean facilities, and works with your concerns. I’m only giving 4 stars because it’s literally impossible to connect with someone over the phone when you need help on a prescription - which can be urgent - you ALWAYS have to leave a voicemail. It feels very impersonal, like nobody can be bothered to pick up the phone even though they have a lot of receptionists. On prescriptions, their partnership with District Pharmacy can be hit or miss. You may have to get something delivered from them, which is great in theory but they use a third party pharmacy, third party courier, and if you miss your delivery you’re SOL. Ask for your own pharmacy if you can, if it’s cheaper - sometime it isn’t. I wish they partnered with another pharmacy. But alas. Otherwise I’ve been very happy with my services, doctors, and in person and virtual visits. If you’re looking for a solid derm and can look past the annoying aspects of working with them, call them! They take most insurances.
Review for Dr Caroline Stovall: She was in and out of the room in 3 minutes. I had more questions to ask and important details to share, but she was clearly impatient to leave and uninterested and unwilling to listen. I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the visit as well as the products that were recommended, which irritated my skin even more. The rest of the team was courteous and responsive, although it’s hard to get through to this clinic by phone.
I had my first hair consult with Grace, she was very patient and professional. She walked me through the proposed treatment. I will have my follow-up in 6 months.
Amber is the rudest and most ill-mannered "office manager". I came in for a treatment l've been getting for the past two years and decided to see a diff doc since my doc was out of office. When I arrived, they told me that my appointment was supposed to be cancelled and I should've been called by someone in their office due to the medical providers being in training. However, no one had called me to inform me of the cancellation and I had still been receiving appointment reminders via email up until the day of the appointment. I explained that I drove over an hour to get to the office and that it was super inconvenient to cancel upon me arriving. They then, magically found a way to fit me into an appointment that "should've been cancelled" despite it being scheduled for over a month. I will say that, upon my arrival to the office, I was speaking with a friendly gentleman but in the background, the receptionists at the front desk were loud, gossipy and inattentive so it started to make sense why I never received a call from the receptionists about cancelling my appointment. Nonetheless, I waited over 35 minutes to be seen. About an hour following treatment, I realized that the treatment had not been performed the same so I took pictures and contacted the office the following day. I spoke to the "office manager", Amber, who was very rude, ill-mannered and aggressive. She didn't even bother to listen to my concern before refuting it. Regardless of her opinion, I asked for a resolution (not a refund) due to my procedure being performed differently than the other times l've received treatment in the past two years - part of it being that the doc did not spend as much time on each part of the treated area which I think was due to her running behind. I asked her to speak to the medical providers and get back to me and she then repeatedly and flippantly told me that she "knew what she was talking about and id be wasting my time as she's managed multiple dermatology offices in her years of working". Worst professionalism or should I say, lack of, that I've ever experienced - 0/10
