Charlottesville Dermatology

Based on my experience, the bedside manner and professionalism was extremely unsatisfactory and I was appalled. This was my very first appointment and I was seen by Jennifer Moye. As I was in the middle of changing into my gown (very shortly after I had been given it and the assistant had left the room) Jennifer and two assistants barged into the room without knocking or announcing themselves whatsoever. I was caught completely off guard and I made it pretty clear that I was uncomfortable by this behavior, however there was absolutely no regard or acknowledgment of it whatsoever. From there and without any pause, Jennifer immediately began talking about what she is going to do/what we were planning on doing which is fine however I was still reeling from my privacy being invaded as well as complete lack of bedside manner in terms of simple introductions and honestly just plain unfriendliness. It felt like an extremely cold and unwelcoming environment, which is the very bare minimum if I am paying someone out of my own pocket to treat me. Her language was condescending and she made it clear to me at least based on her facial expressions that she thought I was very ignorant. It was enough to make me decide to leave the appointment early. The two assistants with her were very empathetic and much more warm towards me than Jennifer which I truly appreciated. However I was honestly just truly shocked at the quality of my experience here. This environment may work for other patients but it does not work for me.

Getting an appointment is so frustrating. I had to change my appointment and the receptionist said in effect, another 3 months. It takes months just to get an appointment and if you reschedule it takes another 3 months. The receptionist didn’t even consider my needs. I have pre-cancer cells all over my scalp and the receptionist didn’t even ask if I had any concerns. I don’t want any association with an organization that is not patient oriented. I found a dermatologist that actually asked me if I had any concerns and then gave me an appointment 3 days later. That is the care I am seeking. None of this unconcerning attitude from Charlottesville Dermatology. Pretty sad.

This place is 5 star. Dr. Elder is my favorite all time doctor. She has gotten me through all 3 types of skin cancer. She will always work you in for emergencies. THANK YOU!!!!!! A very grateful patient

Dr. Cresce is very thorough and friendly. I have very sensitive skin and I need check ups every six months. Charlottesville Dermatology has been great in helping me stay cancer free!

We highly recommend Dr. Cresce and her staff! Everyone in this office was phenomenal to work with today. They got us scheduled very quickly with our urgent referral and took care of my daughter's cyst today during our first appointment. It went so well, I just can't compliment them enough! Dr. Cresce and Christian were very professional and very good with kids. My daughter had been very afraid of having the procedure done, but they made it the best experience possible, taking their time to help her be comfortable and distracted so she could relax. It went so much better than we could've imagined and even she was thrilled with the results. Thank you for what you do, and how well you do it!! We'll definitely be back here for any future issues.
