I want to say I've been seeing Jessica for years, and she's been great. It's the front desk that's the problem. I ran late this last appt by over 10 minutes, but there's a 15 min Grace period. When I got there, the woman behind the desk was pretty condescending to me. I was then told I will have to wait a while even though no one was in the waiting room and the woman coming to the next appt was also late! Why the 15 min Grace period if you're going to be rude to patients that aren't there exactly at the appt time?
Update: been with them for decades because how comfortable I was made to feel. A month ago this was not the case. I'm kinda upset about the visit and not sure I will return. It was so odd. I have been with Galaria dermatology for two decades. I have seen both owners and Jessica. Never had one issue with the staff always kind I'm not sure why one would go anywhere else.
I ended up having a lumpectomy and was terrified. Dr. Williams worked with me and showed compassion and patience. He called me at 8:30 pm from his office to keep discussing my options with me. I put my trust in him and was not disappointed. He is a great doctor.
I am going to start by admitting I made a mistake. I had to make the appointment approximately 2 months in advance. I thought my appointment was at 4pm. It was 3:45pm. The office called me at 3:55pm to see if I was still coming for my appointment. I was there waiting in the parking lot because I didn't want to be in the waiting room any longer than I had to be. They told me to come up. Two minutes later I was in the office. They then proceeded to tell me that I was 12 minutes late and after 10 minutes they have to reschedule. They said the next available appointment would be another 6 to 8 weeks. After pleading my case for another minute or two I told them to give me my ID back and I left. I felt like I was dealing with a bouncer at an exclusive night club. I would prefer a doctor who is slightly more compassionate. After waiting 2 months to see them they couldn't wait 12 minutes to see me. Keep treating your patients poorly, I am sure your waiting times will go down. I was NOT a new patient. I had been going there for years, and my wife and children too. We will all be finding a new doctor.
Took me 2 months to get an appointment and then when I showed up 5 minutes early, they said they called and had a problem with my insurance (new year, active status was incorrect). I assured them it was active, they proceeded to call again, spent some time on the phone and even passed the insurance rep to me to work out. When I was put on hold I asked if I could just self pay as now its been 15 minutes and I need to deal with the insurance later, but she told me it was to late to be seen now, well past my appt time and the Dr has other patients to see!! First, she should have figured out the insurance issue WELL before the day and hour of my appointment AND they should have called me WELL in advance to figure it out ahead of time! At a minimum, since it takes months to book an appt she should have told me upfront I had limited time to figure this out and did I want to self-pay today. Extremely disappointed. Dr's are not the only ones with busy schedules and other priorities. I took time away from my work day and missed an event with my childs school only to get told I missed my appt because of their negligence in figuring out the insurance ahead of time! Now back to square one and will be lucky to see a dermatologist by summer!
