Al Damavandy, MD

As a career medical technician, I believe that Dr. Damavandy was fantastic. He was kind, professional, and clearly cares about providing the best care to his patients. I have found a dermatologist that I will always come back to knowing that I am in good hands.

I felt comfortable from the moment I walked in the office. The receptionist was lovely as was the nurse who took down all the information about why I was there. Dr. Davamandy was friendly and caring and really listened to my problem and discussed several treatment options. I feel confident he will be able to solve my skin issues.

Dr. Damavandy is extremely personable, communicates well, and is open to questions. He and his entire team are on time, efficient, and extremely effective health care professionals. Everyone greeted me, seemed exceptionally happy to be working there, and made me feel extremely comfortable and welcomed. At the same time, they are a busy practice and everyone moves with a purpose. As it turned out, I had a small procedure done and was all prepared for the stick of needle, apologies, warnings of pressure, and to my surprise Dr. Damavandy began, conducted, and completed the entire procedure in what seemed like less than 30 seconds and without a single bit of discomfort. In fact, while I was still waiting for him to numb the area on the back of my scalp, he announced "...All Done..."! He and his team are clearly well trained, and posses a high level of expertise and knowledge both in the practice of dermatological medicine and the running of an office. They have put much thought and effort into operating their practice in a manner that is safe (considering the current pandemic) and at the same time protective of your privacy. The office is extremely clean, well decorated, bright, and welcoming. It is an environment that reflects the professionalism and attitude and personality of Dr. Damavandy and his team. The fruit of hard work, personable patient relations, and respect for their team and patients is clearly noticeable, and a joy to experience.

Pain the first night, only hurts now when trying to make a fist. Swelling of fingers, hand and wrist started yesterday and is slightly subsiding today. Put ice on the area before going to sleep last night. Surgical area looks clean and tight.

Dr. D is fantastic! He is an excellent doctor, very thorough and friendly, and he takes the time to listen and explain. I had Moh's surgery and could not be happier with the results. I have seen several other dermatologists in Reston and Vienna and hands down recommend him fully. The office staff and whole team are great too.
