The time I waited for an appointment was only 2 days!! The staff was pleasant, caring and i only waited about 5 minutes before getting into the room. The doctor was thorough and found something that he needed to biopsy so he did right then. Very good experience, and I'll go back every year, as one should.
Everything about Frontier Dermatology was AMAZING. The front office check is was the BEST and she was the only one up front (sorry I don't remember her name) but she handled the phone as well as the check in and was SUPER patient. The MA (heading to medical school) did an above and beyond job and was very caring...then Scott Taylor PA-C was very thorough with his attention during my appointment....recommended some things and will call me when we can move forward with treatment. Life is Good and they are GREAT!!!
Everyone in the office is friendly and helpful with a new patient. The doctor, Scott Taylor, is very knowledgeable and explains everything that he needs to do for the treatment needed. Excellent job done.
I am very disappointed and unsatisfied with Frontier Dermatology in Edmonds, WA. I arrived 15 minutes early to complete paperwork. The doctor, Dr. Preston Lehr, had no information about my history or condition. The assistant called me back right away and I had no time to complete the paperwork. The doctor did not care. He "diagnosed" me in 2 minutes and wrote me off like there was no need for further discussion. I was not given enough time to ask all my questions. I had come prepared with information and questions and felt like I was just "dismissed". I would never go back there again and do not recommend this facility or this doctor. This type of visit is what gives "Western" medicine its' bad rap.
I made an appt for a skin check (to establish care with a new provider because my previous provider is no longer at this practice) which is covered through my insurance under preventive care. I went to the appointment, had the skin check, and then at the very end I asked the provider if there were any alternatives to the acne medication that I am on, because the price is extremely high. She was kind, agreed to send a prescription for a different med, and told me that if I needed to talk further about acne, that I’d need to make another appointment. All of this is understandable and seemed fine at the time, however, I just got my explanation of benefits, and it looks like Frontier billed my whole appointment as an office/acne visit, which I will need to pay out of pocket. The acne conversation was less than 5 minutes at the very end of my appt, and the provider was inching her way to the door the entire time, reminding me to make a future appt with her. I absolutely understand making appointments for specific needs, and if I had a ton of questions about acne, I definitely would’ve made two separate appointments, but this was just a prescription question. I think as patients we should be able to ask questions and/or discuss one concern at what is supposed to be an annual exam/skin check—the providers/staff should allow time for that. I have been going to Seattle Skin/Frontier for years, and because of this experience (and another negative one prior to this), I am going to be looking elsewhere. I don’t want to go to a practice that is seemingly comfortable taking advantage of situations like this.
