I am a new patient at the Dermatology Clinic at Jefferson Healthcare in Port Townsend. I saw Dr. Daniel Kowalski (Dan) and his medical assistant, Jerri. I had such a positive experience snd found both Dr. Kowalski and Jerri to be very professional, personable, empathetic and highly skilled. Dr. Kowalski was thorough and took the time to really explain the biopsy procedure and options for treatment, including the plastic surgeon component, in the event my results come back positive for skin cancer. I left the office feeling calm and well informed. Thank you Dr. Dan and Jerri for making a typically unpleasant procedure, not so bad at all!!

If you are a woman that is concerned about being scarred and you have to have Mohs surgery, this place DOES NOT do ‘coordinated closures’. What that means is that after the doctor takes all the cancer cells out, then a plastic surgeon does any repair work needed and does the closure. This place does not do that. They cut the cancer out, sew you up and that’s it. You are on your own with the scarring afterward. Do not go to this clinic. There is a wonderful doctor in Sequim that will work with a plastic surgeon so you don’t walk away disfigured. Insurance and Medicare does cover this.

1st visit with Dr Kaatz for my husband and myself. Dr Kaatz was the most thorough skin checks we have ever had. She found immediately 2 Malignant Melanomas on me and one keratosis on my husband. She immediately referred me to a specialist in oncology surgeon. She made sure I followed up on getting an appointment with the surgeon as soon as possible. We both highly recommend this clinic and certainly Dr Kaatz - professional, explained every step and definitely expressed concern and was very direct.

Excellent care, and I was seen quickly for a suspicious lesion. Jefferson Dermatology does do MOHS contrary to what someone else posted.

Front desk staff needs to learn customer service skills.
