Aspirus Stevens Point Clinic - Illinois Avenue

Went to the ER for bleeding at 6 weeks pregnant, I'm high risk, I have had 3 previous losses. ER was Great, however I was directed from the ER to the OB upstairs to set up an 8 week appointment (2 weeks from now). The lady at the desk said the nurses would call me in 4 weeks from now and I'd get in AFTER that. Aka AFTER 10 Weeks. When I'm a HIGH RISK patient. Either she doesn't want to do her job and she doesn't care about patients, or the whole clinic doesn't care about their patients. Either way not giving the Aspirus clinic my money or business again only department worth visiting is the ER. Marshfield clinic will have me in two weeks from now at 8 weeks on the dot and apologized for my experience with this clinic.

If you want cruelty towards the elderly, go to the Aspirus pain clinic. My friend who lives alone and has trouble walking fell and broke her toe. She was already on a pain medication that was supposed to follow a plan, but she took extra so she could move around her house on her broken toe. . She ran out of medication a few days before her next pain management appointment. Before I got to her house today, she had already tried calling to talk to a nurse about getting pain medication just for today so she could get to her appointment tomorrow. No nurse called her back, so she called again. My friend called so many times trying to talk to a nurse that I forget how often she called. One clinic receptionist lectured my friend about braking her pain contract. Another receptionist said she would put "priority call" on the message to the nurses. When no nurse called back after close to 2 hours, my friend called again. That receptionist hung up on her. My friend made yet another try before I left. She was still waiting for a nurse to call her back. My 81 year old friend was still in pain from a broken toe. She was unable to eat the lunch we had planned to share because of her pain. Cruelty. UPDATE My friend never got a call back from a nurse. Two of us took our 81 year old friend to her pain appointment. She explained using the pain pills up faster because of her broken toe. The doctor said, "That's when you call for more medication." The doctor said NOTHING about my friend breaking her pain contract. She INCREASED the pain medication dosage for 2 months to get my friend through the broken bone healing process. The doctor was exactly what my friend needed. The receptionists and nurses were CRUEL.

I went in for treatment for two second degree burns and they had me soak cloths in ice water to place on them for around 20mins. The doctor I had also recommended for me to continue placing ice on them as an at home treatment. In the care packet they handed out to me it said in bold multiple times that placing ice on burns can cause more damage.

this is the second time I’ve been to ophthalmology in the last six years that I felt I was rushed through my eye exam and did not have an accurate prescription. Before getting my glasses, I asked the optician if ai was be able to see the new prescription and read the eye chart because I was not given that option and felt uncertain about the accuracy. I had mentioned my concerns to Dr. O’Malley and he said my prescription change was what he would expect it to have been. I had to wait to be seen again to read the eye chart and my prescription was indeed off. The new prescription had to be approved by Dr. O’Malley, so I asked if I could go into optical to get my glasses ordered while I was waiting. Jayne, the assistant who did the testing, came in whispering about me to the optician, and instead of being upset with me, I think should’ve appreciated that we actually got the correct prescription. Four years ago when it was all wrong I had to have all new lenses put in my sunglasses and eye glasses and struggled for six months with the wrong prescription, I understand when staff is short, but I don’t expect my quality of service to be cut short because of it with this being the second time this is happened to me, and I had to be my own advocate to get things right, I think I will be changing to another doctor. I do not feel that somebody that doesn’t have any type of degree and just on the job training should be doing all of the ophthalmologist tests. Anyway, I never had an assistant check my pupils with the light and do all of the testing that this person is doing for Dr. O’Malley. If she’s performing all of the test that a doctor normally does, I certainly hope her rate of pay is compensating her for doing all of that When I expressed concerns to the doctor, I expect them to be taken seriously, and for my concerns to be addressed not dismissed.

I had a laparoscopy yesterday morning and had the PLEASURE of working with my new bestie Ashley. She was hilarious and so sweet. She kept my spirits high while I was in the most pain I’ve ever been in and took away ALL of my anxiety. Give this beautiful woman a raise!! I adored being in her care! And I want her to be at all of my appointments from now on! ♥️ she even let me listen to my higher power frequencies to relax while we prepped for surgery. She’s a 10/10 employee.
