River Region Dermatology and Laser

A couple of times I visited the office of River Region Dermatology and Laser, I did not have the greatest experience. When I Arrived, there were two ladies at the front desk and neither of them welcomed me. I stood there waiting for someone to acknowledge me and assist me. I arrived on time for my appointment, but I still waited an hour and ten minutes before the doctor saw me. Once it was time for the doctor to see me she didn’t knock before entering the room, even though I could’ve been undressing. She didn’t introduce herself to me and when I told her what I was experiencing, and what I wanted to take place during my visit, she gave me an explanation that seemed to convey she was irritated and annoyed. When it was time for me to sign something on an iPad, she just handed it to me and didn’t explain to me what she wanted me to sign.When she was done with the procedure, she didn’t inform me she was done or even dismiss me in a proper manner. I found the manner of both Dr. Love another doctor I saw cold and dismissive. It’s as if they don’t take the time to really want to hear their patients out. They only want to get you in and get you out quickly. I Do not intend on coming to this practice in the future. Doctors these days need to have a better bedside manner and not behave like a cold fish with their patients. (Most brown skin people are not the friendliest)

Very disappointed—this was my first and last visit. I waited an hour in the waiting room, then another hour in the exam room before Dr. Love finally came in. When she did, she spent only 2 minutes with me, never examined my skin, and just looked up suggestions on Google—something I could’ve done myself at home. Total waste of time. On top of that, I had blood work done, and while my results came back a few days later, the office didn’t call me for an entire month to say everything was normal. I expected much better.

I started treatment at the beginning of August. They did a biopsy on my skin to figure out what the problem was. I was prescribed Dupixent. I had to make a trip to Montgomery to put my starter kit. It was handed to me, but I wasn't instructed on how to do inject myself. Thankfully my daughter in law is a nurse and she showed me the right way. The problem is that I'm now having bad reactions to the Dupixent . The rash is twice as bad as when I began treatment. I have tried to reach them on the phone, all I get is an answering machine, and no one is returning calls This is horrible, it's leaving awful scars all over me, and I feel like crap . It's not that hard to return a call

This was my third and final appointment with river region dermatology. Everytime was at least a 45 minute wait. This third time was 1 hour and 20 minutes before I was finally seen by the dermatologist, and she spent no more than two minutes with me. Furthermore, the office and waiting area is heavily perfumed, so much so that I felt dizzy and nauseated and waited outside for each appointment. These professionals should know more than anyone that perfume aggravates psoriasis and eczema--especially the kind of perfume that sticks to your clothes and skin for the rest of the day.

I was thoroughly impressed with the level of care provided and the detailed attention to my skin concerns. The positive and welcoming atmosphere made my experience even better.
