We are thrilled to have found the doctors Jennifer and Peter Rullan’s impeccable practice. Our previous Derm retired and after trying his disappointing replacement, wa were most grateful to find these two highly professional surgeons. Their practice is well staffed and offers a wide range of cosmetic as well as medical procedures. We highly recommend them!

Dr. Jennifer Rullan is arrogant and over confident; the worst kind of health care professional. My daughter has seen multiple top tier derms in the past 17 years. Never have I dealt with someone who had such little interest in my daughters individual situation. She didn’t ask much about her background or lifestyle. She tried pushing for my teen to receive some type of pharmaceutical injection every 2 weeks. When I mentioned I would review the research, no previous Derm had recommended such a thing, she was clearly offended. As a healthcare provider myself, I encourage all my patients to become well informed. It’s a red flag if your provider has a big ego and discourages this. She encouraged my daughter to take melatonin because, ”…in the US we don’t produce enough.” I’m assuming this was her clumsy way of referring to the fact that our circadian rhythms have been disrupted due to artificial lights and devices. Little does she know, we are obsessive over maintaining a very healthy circadian rhythm- exposing ourselves to natural sunlight and physical activity in the morning, turning lights low and below eye level in the evenings, etc.; my teen doesn’t need to take exogenous melatonin. My daughter was seeing a great dermatologist in Orange County before moving back to San Diego. Looks like we’re just going to have to make the longer drive for better care.

Absolutely horrible. Was asked to come early to fill in new patient paperwork, came early as requested, then my appointment time ran over 30 minutes in total we sat waiting a little bit over an hour. Horrible! Mind you this appointment was for my 7 year old so it was very important for her to be seen.

I am a dermatopathologist and dermatologist myself. And I traveled halfway across the country to Dr Rullan. Both she and her father are widely known for being absolutely the most knowledgeable and savvy with chemical peels and overall medical and cosmetic dermatology. The staff has a cultivated and professional demeanor and the visit, that took a three hour plane ride each way, ran efficient and smooth. I cannot rate them highly enough. New year~new lids and no plastic surgeon involved! 😍 Board certified, internationally recognized, Rullan dermatologists shine a bright light on our profession and serve a broad community through their great work at Dermatology Insititute. What’s not to love about that!

Very professional. Modern facility. Great waiting room comfy seating lots of nice magazines coffee water and snacks. Paid parking only downside. If no walking impairments nice places nearby within 5 minute walking distance like Chula Vista Public Library. Friendly helpful staff. Elevator takes you to waiting room. No long wait time. All Doctors that I have seen and nurse practitioner and assistants very knowledgeable and interested in products you use. Sometimes visits a little short but Dr. Jennifer Rullan spent a lot of time with me regarding my scalp problems. In addition to trying to find correct medication for my specific problem she also wrote down alternative and holistic treatments to try. I trust her judgement and thankful for her concern for me as a whole person including diet recommendations and supplements that are helpful. Good people there.
