Stein Dermatology & Skin Surgery

I would like to say that as a patient of Dr Stein‘s for eight months now after three surgeries that I would refer him to anyone as one of the very best doctors available today… each time I was seen and treated I had the very best care and best results. Dr Stein is a very positive person and he truly cares. I always feel so much better leaving his office. Thank you Dr Stein.

Absolutely horrible! I wouldn't recommend! I came on for a biopsy on an abnormal skin growth. I came in on time for my appointment. It took about 40 in between before the provider actually came in. Once the biopsy was taken I was told it was going to be 5 weeks to receive my results... We made a follow up appointment. I came in to my follow up, again on time. I waited until 28 mins in the waiting area, until I check w the front desk at 11:25 that's when I was taken to a room. Once in the room the young lady tells me that they do not have my results. She said "I called today to get your results and they couldn't test your sample" ... So they needed to take another biopsy and wait ANOTHER 5 weeks to get the results. WHAT?!!! I was blown away by this. I asked how come the lab didn't call so I could come in again, but as soon as they knew!!! She said she would speak to the office manager n see if anything could be done. After 2 mins she came back and said that's all they can do. The manager didn't bother to come in, instead the same girl came back in the room to say that's all they could do... I told her it wasn't not going to workout for me and I'll be searching for another dermatologist. I understand mistakes/errors happen but this level of disregard is unacceptable. I know I'm just another patient for them but we r talking about my life changing pending this results... Completely unacceptable.

My appointment was on time and efficient. Dr. Stein was very friendly and informative. I was very happy with him, the office and overall experience.

Had an appointment with Dr. Stein and drove from Oceanside, only to find the office closed with nobody there. Office staff said after the fact that they had tried to contact me, however my phone number was disconnected. My phone number has never been disconnected and they also had my email address..but they needed some sort of excuse I suppose. After arriving to the closed practice, I attempted to call for any information, but there was no updated outgoing message regarding any last-minute change in hours. There also was not any notices regarding the office closure posted at the entrance of the office. There was another confused/upset patient standing outside at the same time as me, so I knew I was not the only one affected that day. I did however, find dirty clothes, garbage, and unsecured Labcorp and Quest Diagnostics patient specimen boxes set on the ground outside the door of the office (as shown in photos). The unsecured boxes raised my concern for the integrity of any patient specimens collected at this office, as well as their compliancy with patient confidentiality in general. Very disturbing that this is a medical practice. Grievance’s have been filed with my insurance due to these reasons, as well as the 10 procedures billed in my name that I never had, since again, I never even stepped foot in the office.

Super nice office staff. Very accommodating despite my being late for my appointment. Dr Stein was very nice, thorough, explained his concerns, and had a gentle and kind beside manner. I would highly recommend them.
