Edit***** Even after a response, zero accountability from MBD. My insurance company has been fighting charges for a year w/out my knowledge b/c this office should have informed us of this change. Patients beware. This office will not inform you of changes & hope that this office kickbacks were worth patient care & information that should be discussed & disclosed. Original review***** Always had a good experience with this office for years until they decided to change lab facilities without notifying clients. As you can imagine, pathology is vital in dermatology & can be very expensive. The practice changed labs without notice & now is out of network for many. The only person penalized would be the patient and without having any idea. VERY poor business practice when a very simple email or even a basic sign to inform the patient of the change & to please check with your insurance carrier. Terrible communication & zero care for the patient. Will never recommend again.

I called in multiple times to get directions as I was a new patient and nobody answered the phone lines for over 20 minutes on a weekday at 10:30 AM. Therefore, I was late because I could not find the office. I was finally able to get on call with somebody and I asked them if it was worthwhile for me to still go in and if I could be seen. They said to come in, but I would have to wait. OK I was willing to wait. I came in and upon arrival the front desk assistant went to check in with the PA I was scheduled to see. She said that I would not be seen because I was 30 minutes late. I tried to clarify that I had already spoken with somebody who confirmed I would be able to wait and be seen. It didn’t matter. I was rescheduled to come back in two months.

I have been seeing Jackie for over a year now for my derm care. She is always listens to and addresses my chief complaint and has excellent bedside manner. I can tell she cares so much about the quality of the care she provides for her patients! I saw Natalie for my last visit and she is extremely skilled and gentle. The front office is always so patient with scheduling. I am thankful to have found such a great office in the south bay!

I had a very poor experience with Manhattan Dermatology. The staff and nurses always had my information incorrect so I always had to correct/remind them of my current status and lab results. My doctor, Lauren, was in and out in a flash every time I saw her. She never seemed like she actually cared about my progress at all - she just walked in and walked right out every single time. A very upsetting dermatology experience. On top of that, their accounts payable is wrong consistently. I randomly get charges on my card and most recently I received an overdue bill because they didn't get my insurance correct, and I corrected them on two separate times. Ultimately, I was new to South Bay and took a flyer. A big regret on my part and definitely do not recommend this office. Addressing your comment, you can't find my records because my name is Alexander Vaz, even though I was addressed as Zander by your entire staff.

My experience with Manhattan Dermatology was unfortunately marred by several recurring issues that significantly detracted from the quality of care. One of the most frustrating aspects was the repeated changes in appointment times, which occurred even when appointments were scheduled months in advance. These last-minute alterations caused inconvenience and disrupted my schedule, making it difficult to plan accordingly. Furthermore, the communication from the clinic to patients was consistently poor. There were instances where important information regarding appointments or procedures was not conveyed effectively or timely, leading to confusion and frustration. Additionally, it was evident that communication between the staff members within the clinic was lacking, as there were instances of conflicting information being provided. On multiple occasions, I encountered discrepancies between what staff would use as explanations for their last minute appointment changes. This lack of transparency and integrity eroded my trust in the clinic. Overall, the combination of frequent changes in appointment times, poor communication both with patients and among staff members, and varying excuses made for a disappointing experience at Manhattan Dermatology. These issues significantly detracted from the overall quality of care and left me feeling dissatisfied with the service provided.
