Illuminate Plastic Surgery - Palo Alto

If you want to waste your money, come here for laser hair removal. They boast about having the best Alexandrite laser machine, but I haven’t seen any improvement at all because the operator (I won’t name names) doesn’t know how to use it. Moreover, no sunscreen was applied after the laser treatment, and as we all know, in California, the sun is always shining. The price is truly excessive for a single laser session. I strongly recommend going elsewhere to avoid being ripped off for nothing.

I've been seeing Kristina for Botox and laser treatments for three years. She's incredibly knowledgeable and I always feel she's recommending only what's truly useful for me, never pushing unnecessary services or products. She's a gem, and I highly recommend her. The before and after photos there we take are the proof!

I got Moxy laser from Rachel in Palo Alto. 4 days after the treatment when skin was fully healed I noticed a very big patch of hyperpigmentation covering half of my right side of the face and some parts on the left. This is a very terrifying side effect, as pores are main reason I did Moxy, now I’m left with horrible pigmentation. I went for a follow up with Rachel, response I got was less than appropriate, there was no accountability on their part. They recommended me to use hydroquinone and do another Moxy in 4 weeks!!! I ended up seeing a dermatologist, they confirmed PIH and suspect burn was due to wrong settings. I have had several laser treatments in the past, never once experienced any issue. Be careful with this place, avoid if possible, they seem to have incompetent staff. I’m currently working with my derm, and she mentioned healing can take months if not years.

10/10 recommend! I was hesitant at first to start on Botox as a 41 year old but I knew I would regret not. A few weeks after my son said to me “mom- what happened to your old face- you look younger?” It didn’t feel heavy- it didn’t look plastic, it looked completely natural. Katie nailed it in the best way!

This review is long overdue! I had been looking to remove a couple of “mistakes” aka tattoos, that 17 yr. old me made. I knew that the surest way was laser treatment. I researched places from San Jose to San Francisco and stumbled upon Illuminate Plastic Surgery on Yelp. They were close by, and I loved the whole aspect of a husband and wife team. They also offered a free consult, so what did I have to lose? I made an appointment and showed up to their office which is clean, modern, and easy to find. (Can’t wait to see their new location!) I had no idea what to expect when I met Molly but her cheerful personality instantly put me at ease. She thoroughly explained the use of the PicoSure laser, side effects, number and cost of treatments, and answered every single one of my questions. She made sure to set my expectations that this wasn’t going to be a one and done treatment, and it would take time. I purchased a series of 6 treatments done 6-8 weeks apart and I am now on #5 and the progress is amazing, I wish I had taken more pictures! September 2018 - I also had lip fillers (Juvederm) with Molly and the experience was just as awesome. She’s so informative and ensures the procedures are as painless as possible with minimal side effects. October 2018 - I had a pretty big skin tag in a really sensitive and uncomfortable place. My primary care doctor advised me to leave it alone, stating the recovery and risk for infection outweighed the benefits. It posed no medical issue but it was highly detrimental to my self esteem. I had my consult with Dr. B and he agreed with my doctor about the risk and benefits but also advocated for my comfort and confidence. I decided to go ahead with the procedure and literally felt NO pain. My recovery was effortless and my confidence got a huge boost. I love coming to Illuminate because it’s almost like going to hang out with my friend, who just happens to be an NP with an MD hubby that work together to help revamp you into most confident and best form of yourself. Also everyone in their office is very kind and accommodating! Whatever you need, I would totally recommend Illuminate Plastic Surgery!
