If I could give 6 stars, I would. I did my research and it seemed all roads led to Dr. Chang - anyone in the medical field knew to point to her as the gold standard, and that she was! I met with 3 surgeons as part of my research, and very much appreciated her answer to my question "how can I tell a good doctor from a great one?" to which she mentioned that there are lots of great doctors here in the bay area, and if I'm considering the top ones, then the difference is in trusting that their taste will align with that of mine when they are working their magic while I'm under general anesthesia. I've seen her work and trusted her. I'm only 3 weeks post op (of a tummy tuck) and could not be more happy with my results already. She set proper expectations and delivered 100% and then some. Wholeheartedly recommend!
I flew to San Francisco to have Dr. Chang do my cosmetic surgery. Three of my four sisters have had plastic surgery with Dr. Chang (one came from Alaska) and I could not recommend her more highly. I am in the medical profession myself and her expertise, her attention to detail, and her ability to communicate with thoughtfulness and patience is beyond measure. Additionally, she is incredibly kind. She explained what to expect and was 100% accurate. The procedure went seamless and my results look fantastic. Her staff is also extraordinary! They answer questions promptly and are efficient and exceedingly kind I have 100% positive recommendation for Dr. Chang to anyone who is considering plastic surgery. Mary Barry
Absolutely phenomenal surgeon. Excellent bedside manner. She is a true artist. I came to her to revise a prior abdominoplasty which did not heal as expected. I wanted to write this in response to the 1 star review in this list. First, the results of plastic surgery is not guaranteed. Second, the results are very much dependent on patient compliance as well as prior optimization for the procedure. So, while there are some unfortunate events which are simply unpredictable and just unlucky, the vast majority are related to poor patient compliance pre and post procedure. Patients are often not forthcoming with history (such as smoking) because they don’t want to be denied the procedure (some doctors will not do procedures on current smokers because of the poor healing rates- especially abdominoplastys) and some patients don’t think it’s relevant (such as eating 5 fast food meals a week) or some simply forget. As well, some people have completely unrealistic expectations. It is likely that these 2 women are bitter about the results because they either had unrealistic expectations, were not completely truthful about their medical history or did not put in the effort to optimize healing and results. Plastic surgery is only part of the process. The patient must play a significant part in proper nutrition and exercise I 1000% recommend Dr. Carolyn Chang without any hesitation or reservation. Finally, Dr. Chang would never ‘body shame’ a patient. She is classy and honest. If you feel body shamed when a physician tells you that you are obese (which is a medical description) then that is your problem, not theirs. PS I am an emergency medicine physician so I have a clue how this works.
I recently had facelift and brow lift surgery with Dr. Chang and am extremely pleased with my result. I look like myself only years younger, so much so that I can't stop looking at myself in the mirror :) .The few friends that I have confided in have remarked about how natural I look as well how surprised they were at how smoothly and quickly my recovery went. I felt extremely comfortable throughout the entire process, Dr. Chang is both very approachable and knowledgable and her staff is very efficient and caring. During the consultation with Dr. Chang I felt that she gave me realistic assessment of what this surgery could do for me personally and did she ever deliver!! I also really appreciated the assistance that she and her team have given me with regard to skin care post surgery, I now have a new regimen that compliments my new younger look. I highly recommend Dr. Chang, she is an excellent surgeon.
Dr Carolyn Chang is incredibly skilled and very honest about predicted outcomes. I had a facelift and am thrilled with the result. Not only was she able to correct damage from a mini facelift I had had over a decade before, but she did this challenging surgery so successfully that I wish I had come to her long ago. Her staff is straightforward, caring and attentive and talks to you in a way that feels genuine. To help with healing I saw Lisa Bradbury, whom they recommended for lymphatic massage. She was able to speed up the recovery time and has a lot of good advice about skincare. I am so grateful for my new refreshed look and to Dr Carolyn Chang, who has the skill to transform people into the best possible natural looking versions of themselves!
