I used to recommend this doctor. I’ve gone to Aloe Dermatology for over 15 years and given many referrals to friends & family. But recently, I encountered an unprofessional situation and what I would call coercive tactics that were used to get patients to leave a credit card number with them. When I made an appointment the day before, nothing was said to me about a policy change. I did not receive a letter nor email indicating a new policy was in effect. So I arrived at my appointment, taking time off work and traveling a long distance to get to the clinic and arrived on time. I was immediately given papers to sign and asked for a credit card number. I have Medicare and a top supplemental policy and I explained I wasn’t comfortable leaving a card number with them. After reading the papers, I understood I would not be able to continue coming to the clinic after this visit. I was told the doctor wouldn’t see me if I didn’t sign and leave them my credit I card number that day. I explained that I understood now that this was the new policy but I had no prior knowledge of this change and would appreciate being seen for this final visit. I thought if she would ask Dr. Llewelyn he would, after 15 years and many referrals, honor this appointment. He declined to talk to me and instead told her that he wouldn’t see me if I didn’t leave them my credit card. This seems like such an unprofessional and negative way to treat his long-term patients! I told everyone I referred to Dr. Llewelyn about my experience. They were all in accord with me and felt, as I do, that this was an inexcusable way to treat a long term patient in good standing! I cannot recommend this clinic or doctor. They seem to be more interested in coercing their patients for money than treatment.
I love going to Aloe Dermatology. Everyone is so professional, and I feel very comfortable there. Meredith takes care of my Botox- she is so good at it. I have been going for over a year now.
Evelyn was very kind and thorough in looking at my aged sun-kissed skin to make sure nothing was irregular. This yearly check is so important and even more for those that enjoy the sun like me!
After experiencing an infection from a Mohs procedure, she was excellent in her diagnosis and treatment. Within a week of her medication being put on the area, it was healing well. A visit from the doctor wasn’t necessary.
I was not surprised at all when after I surfed, skied and worked as a firefighter for 37 years When In 2009 another Physician found Melanoma in my blood test. Dr. Lewellyn has worked tirelessly to keep the Melanoma in check. He maintains a careful surveillance, with a rigorous schedule of examinations including examinations of anomalies that I might become concerned about. During examinations if any anomaly is consistent with a more serious pathology a sample is excised and examined by a Pathologist. Should surgical removal be indicated Dr.Lewellyn has used Mohs surgery to remove it completely, leaving only healthy tissue. I credit Aloe Dermatology with keeping me healthy and able to enjoy my retirement.
