Eyesthetica - Torrance Eyelid Surgery

Thank you Doctor Lo and Team for doing such a great job on removing my 20+ year old eye lesion! I highly recommend Doctor Lo for his expertise and professionalism. Before I met Doctor Lo, I had a HMO ophthalmologist told me that removing the eye lesion would require removing a few eye lashes, eye lid, leaving a scar, which I was concerned. Doctor Lo did such a wonderful job that the surgery was fast, painless and he was able to preserve my eye lid (NO SCAR) and all my eye lashes too! I was thrilled! During my office visits, Doctor Lo answered all my concerns/questions patiently and provided good recommendations. He walked me through the process, so I am very well prepare and know exactly what to expect for my surgery. My eye healed up amazingly fast, it was minimal downtime, I was able to wear contacts the next day. All the staff at Eyesthetica (Torrance) are super friendly, courteous, caring, and professional. The office is clean, spacious, and the location is very convenient with lots of free parking for visitors. Making appointment was fast and easy with text/email alerts to remind me of my upcoming appointments. Stephanie, who answers all my insurance and billing questions, is always so helpful and responsive! Doctor Christopher Lo (Eyesthetica, Torrance location), is very experienced and I highly recommend Doctor Lo. I will definitely go back for him for any future needs.

The front office and medical assistants are great. However the one doctor I’ve had to go to several times here is condescending, impatient always in a hurry to rush through the appointment and procedure, and becomes irritated and sarcastic if he has to give me another dose of numbing drops for my eyes to continue w the procedure he impatiently says that it shouldn’t hurt instead of recognizing each patient has their own individual level of pain tolerance. Any good doctor or dentist knows this but he’s in such a hurry to race to the next patient he complains about having to take another 2 minutes to provide numbing drops to my eyes. He may have expertise and skill in the clinical sense but he lacks showing care and regard for the patients individual needs and seems to be so focused on getting as many patients seen in a hurry. Since this has occurred more than once w him it wasn’t a one off where he was having a bad day. Skill and experience can’t make up for lacking basic regard and respect for patients individual health needs. I can’t speak for other doctors in the practice as my only experience has been with Dr Lo.

I really had high hopes for this office. Very disappointed. I signed up for the free consultation that was advertised on the website. Got several voicemails trying to confirm my insurance information which I don’t understand because I was going to pay cash. When I got to the office, they wanted a $200 non refundable consultation fee! I told them that they never told me that and they said they left me a voicemail asking for it. I have the voicemail and all they asked for was my updated insurance. Very unprofessional and basically calling me a liar. I don’t have a problem paying but at least be up front with it. That was a bad sign in my opinion.

I had skin cancer on my eyelid and Dr. Melanie Ho Erb performed the surgery to remove it. She did an excellent job! Her office staff also worked with me and my insurance to get the lowest cost treatment. Thank you!

When I look in the mirror, my eyes look like me again. I am so pleased I had my surgery with Dr. Lo. In addition, Dr. Lo and his staff were always professional, courteous, and friendly. A definite 5 star review!
