Backus Plainfield Emergency Care Center

This place was as good as it gets for emergency care. I was taken in quickly. Everybody was courteous and caring. They were empathetic and attentive. They made my experience much more pleasant than it could’ve been elsewhere. It was clean the nurse at the doctors were great. Not only did they make sure that I was comfortable they made sure that the person with me was comfortable also. If u so need urgent care and are in the area this is the place to go.

Went in today with my husband, Dr. Alex and his team were so helpful. My husband had to have a lot of tests so we were there for a very long time but it didn’t even feel like it because someone was always checking in with us and keeping us updated on progress. He not only addressed our main problem but also took care of a secondary issue while we were there. This was the best experience we’ve ever had at Backus. Thank you all for your hard work.

This evening I brought my 11yr old son in to be evaluated. I couldn’t believe that we were checked in and discharged within an hour. Everyone was so friendly and gracious from the receptionist, registrar, ER tech, nurse, X-ray tech and the APRN. I don’t normally do reviews however we had such a positive experience that I felt the praise was worthy. I dreaded the thought of going to the ER and I’m so grateful for the care we received! THANK YOU!!

My husband was seen by John Turner. He was absolutely phenomenal with us. He had one of the best bedside manner I've ever seen and I work in the healthfield. He handled my husband's complicated health issue with knowledge and empathy. We couldn't have asked for a better PA

My two stars were meant only for the nurses! The doctor that saw me was so rude and condescending. I came in with chest/epigastric pain. I was vomiting before I got there, and my pain was literally a 10/10 my husband thought it was a heart attack turns out it was a panic attack -- a severe one and gastric pain. The nurses were understanding that speaking is hard d/t shortness of breath and the pain plus I was laying flat. This doctor walks in and hears me talking "funny" d/t the pain and difficulty breathing and says "Why are you talking like that? There's nothing wrong with your chest for you to be talking like that so stop talking like that... we are trying to help you but you have to help us help you so talk properly" yes I know that, but you could have implemented interventions to help me speak better since I WAS LAYING FLAT IN PAIN, HAD A DRY MOUTH FROM VOMITING AND DIFFICULTY BREATHING. He raised the bed up after heavily implying I was overreacting or I was pretending and the pain wasn't as bad as I was saying. But his attitude toward me was unsurprising considering that 95% blacks are treated this way by Dr.'s. Dr. David McCann do better!!!!!!!!
