Mid Florida Dermatology & Plastic Surgery

After a recent visit to mid florida dermatology, we have found that the level of care has diminished as the years have gone by. The check ups to look for skin cancer are getting less and less thorough... When we went in the other day, they tell my husband to strip down to his underwear. She glanced at his back, then, checked his head and that was it for a full body! They always ask "Do you see anything suspicious?"Well, how do we know that's why we're there! I was very disappointed. When we first moved to new here we went to blue oceans, and when they did a head to toe check, it was a head to toe check.They even checked your feet an in between your toes! We had to switch because of insurance and I'm sorry, but the PA'S are sweet girls, but they don't know how to do a full body cancer scan! Someone needs to train them on what a full body cancer check looks like.. After all, we live in Florida and in my business. I see so many people with squamous cell and melanoma.. . I would not be surprised if your staff is missing many of these. If things were to change and you're pa's, knew how to do a full body scan, then we would love to stay with the practice! Jill pierson

I went to a different dermatology office to get a spot checked out on my face, after a full body scan I found out I had two spots of concern that were biopsies and came back as cancerous. Due to insurance issues I had to find a new office. I was hesitant to choose mid Florida after seeing the reviews. However I’m so glad I chose to come in anyways. Dr Morrison and the staff were so kind quick and caring. They really care about their patients and the quality of their work. If these reviews discourage you in anyway, please check it out for yourself. I’m so so grateful that I did!

I absolutely liked Dr. Morrison. I think she did a good job removing my basal cell carcinoma. What I didn’t like was the fact I called the office and got transferred five times to the office and every time I spoke to someone they kept transferring me. I called because where I had surgery I started bleeding where they put my stitches it started happening when the anesthesia was wearing off. I was trying to ask if I should come back in. The receptionist transferred me to one of her medical technicians and sent over an email to call me. I was told they would call me between 10-4. It was 11:15am. Come 4:00pm I still never received a phone call. To top it all off I was told that someone from pathology would or should have the results of my basal cell removal before I left to make sure they got it all. They came back 5 minutes later and said someone would call me by the end of the day to let me know if they got all the cancer out. Needless to say, that didn’t happen either. It’s now been 36 hours since my surgery and I still haven’t heard from anyone from the doctors office. So, I am stuck wondering if I am going to go back in and have to be reopened when I see them again next week. The room I was in was also dirty there was ripped up paper on the floor I didn’t see any blood anywhere so, that’s a positive. The room at least could have used a good sweeping.

A very important aspect in the healthcare industry and one that is often overlooked is the attitude of the staff at any medical office. The ladies at Mid Florida are like a big happy family the energy there is very positive and upbeat and as a patient it had a very strong very positive effect on me. In this kind of environment excellent care can be given and is given at Mid Florida. These ladies have created a wonderful healing environment I would recommend to anybody I know that they go there. Thank you ladies for wonderful experience.
