I want to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Anup Patel with Orlando Hand Surgery Associates for his exceptional orthopaedic repair and surgical reconstruction of a deep laceration injury I sustained to my right dominant index finger and especially for his commitment to medicine and indominable spirit of not backing away from a challenge. Dr. Anup Patel defines what a doctor should be. 5 weeks post Mini ER visit for a laceration injury to my dominant hand, I presented to him with complaints of loss of extension, limited mobility, significant hypertrophic scarring and disfigurement relative to the stitching handy work of the Mini ER. He questioned the delay in treating for what seemed to be a possible extensor tendon tear but we had been discharged from the Mini ER and had been told there was no damage to any muscle, tendons or nerves. Dr. Patel wasted no time and ordered immediate MRI which confirmed his suspicion and surgery was scheduled the next day. Dr. Patel was concerned, given the delay in getting proper treatment, but he said to me “Andrew, I am hopeful and will do my very best” which was everything I needed to hear. Because of Dr. Patel, I am not left with a disability, but rather a completely restored and functioning right hand AND an amazing repair of the horrible scar left from the initial injury and surgical stitching by the Mini ER. I humbly submit that I am a competitor and world champion in Taekwondo in Weapons and Katas for Team Intensity, Team USA and Team AKA. The full and hyper use of my right hand is so important to me and for my future career in medicine. My hobbies outside of school and sport are teaching, tricking and art. I was scared that I would not regain full function. Dr. Patel did it! He competed for me and I am truly grateful for his gifts. In short, Dr Patal is amazing. After 3 kids, and losing over 97 lbs over the last year, I had a lot of excess skin and poor abdominal muscles and while I was a smaller size, my breasts were completely deflated and the skin from my upper and lower stomach made me look flabby. I interviewed 5 different plastic surgeons, with Dr. Patal with Orlando Plastic Surgery Institute being the 4th one. Dr. Patal was BY FAR the most thorough and comprehensive with me during my consult. He listened to my concerns, and recommended to me what he thought would give me the aesthetic results I was hoping for, but what would be the safest surgery possible. His entire team is wonderful and caring which made me feel so much more comfortable. One of the things that impressed me the most about Dr. Patal was his precision and how comprehensive he is in both his pre-op consult, in the OR, and in all of my post-op care so far. I don't take the decision to have optional cosmetic surgery lightly, and I searched for a surgeon who understood my goals, and made it his priority to provide the safest, most successful surgery possible. I'm now 10 days post op. My scars are so thin, straight, and light and my TT scar is low and hidden by my underwear. I am absolutely thrilled with my results. I couldn't have made a better decision with Dr. Patal. Listen to him, and trust him. He is without a doubt the top surgeon I met with and I am fortunate to have had him perform my Mommy Makeover.

Dr.Patel is an amazing and talented physician.He is straight forward and to the point which I appreciate. He has changed my life with the surgery he performed. My three year old son had a terrible accident where he had a cut on his face. Dr. Patel took such great care of him. The face is such a delicate spot to repair and Dr. Patel took such care and precision. Months later and you can hardly tell there was a wound there. He really went the extra mile and came in early and answered all of my questions. He immediately put me at ease. Dr. Anup Patel and his team performed upper and lower eyelid surgery to rejuvenate my eyes. Years of sitting in front of a computer screen rubbing my eyes to relieve the strain had caused the eyelids to sag, reducing my field of vision. The under-eye bags looked terrible. At 64, the stresses of life had caught up with me and I finally had to do something about it. I decided to make the hour and twenty-minute drive from Ocala to Orlando to see Dr. Patel. This is why. Dr. Patel, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon who completed his MD/MBA degrees at Yale University, received his plastic surgery training at Yale followed by a fellowship in hand and microsurgery at NY University and Mount Sinai. Dr. Patel is the guy who Tonight Show host, Jimmy Fallon thanked on national TV for saving his finger when he almost lost it. I received the finest, optimal care for my upper and lower eyelids and brow. Dr. Patel collaborates with Dr. Chirag J. Patel (not related)who is a Board-certified Ophthalmologist Specialist. With Dr. Patel’s brilliant surgical skills, an ophthalmologist who specializes in the anatomy around the eyes [functioning of the eye lids, fat pads around the eyes, as well as the numerous muscles around the eyes] and an anesthesiologist who is a liver transplant/cardiothoracic medical doctor, I was in great hands. My reattachment of the upper eye lid muscles was not initially part of the “my plan” but it is a testament to Dr. Patel’s devotion to his patient’s care and to the best possible outcome for them. He also included fillers around the lower part of my eyes to make me look more youthful. He contacted me after the surgery several times to ensure everything was ok. This personal touch was much appreciated and was another indication of how much he cares for his patients. Dr. Patel and his team made me feel like I was part of their family from the first phone call. Danielle is Dr. Patel’s surgical nurse. She is knowledgeable and funny. After my surgery another caring nurse, Shannon took excellent care to ensure all was well with me post op. Also, Dr. Patel has established “Cosmetic Saturday”. Many of his patients are high profile patients who cannot afford to take time off. Saturday offers a unique approach. One of the best things about the Cosmetic Saturdays is the privacy. I arrived early morning& was the only patient there. Talk about privacy and undivided attention! I cannot express how professional and genuinely caring Dr. Patel and his team are. I would highly recommend Dr. Patel and his team for their professionalism and the “care” they provided. Not only was it a privilege and honor to meet all of these caring people, but my wife says I look years younger. And you know, I feel younger. Just wish I had done this simple surgery years ago. Guess I was waiting for the impressive Patel Team.
