Illumine Medspa

The experience I had at Illumine Medspa was topnotch today! The office itself is beautiful, well kept, and very clean. The ladies working at the front desk were so kind and greeted me warmly when I entered, offering me something to drink. They took me back to the room as soon as I was done completing my paperwork and made sure I had everything I needed to be comfortable while I was waiting for my numbing cream to take effect, checking on me multiple times. The nurse practitioner and owner was very warm and made sure to go over what to expect during the process and after in great detail so I felt very confident going into the treatment. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great medspa!

I received a Groupon for 6 laser hair removal sessions as a gift. Scheduling was challenging due to a broken online system and delayed responses. After confirming an appointment for 12/28 at 3:00pm I was contacted 12/27 to reschedule for 12/28 10:30 am. I arrived this morning to find the location locked, with no staff present and no response to calls or emails. Upon checking reviews, I discovered this was a common occurrence. I was able to secure a refund through Groupon, but I recommend reviewing feedback carefully before booking with this business.

I went to Illumine for about 2 years for laser hair appointment on different areas. The lady that used to do the treatment was rude, but since I had paid and was seeing results, I stayed and even paid for more laser treatments. Service significantly decreased in the past months. I was always on time and they were consistently 30-40min late. For my 5th appointment, they mentioned the WP location was temporarily closed but they could see me at their WG location. That is farther from my place, but since they could see me on a Saturday, I agreed. I then got a text saying my location had changed; it was now going to be somewhere in Oviedo. I called to confirm but no one answered. Less than 24hrs before my app, they called me and told me they no longer work on Saturdays and I had to reschedule my appointment. At this point it got ridiculous so I asked for a refund; they agreed. I called the next business day asking about the refund and eventually they agreed to send me the money for my 5th & 6th appointment. Now, its been 12 days and havent seen the refund and I doubt I will. Keep looking for other places, this is not it.

I will not be coming back to this establishment. I’ve used this office for laser hair removal for over a year now, on multiple areas. The service started doing severely downhill when they changed machines as well as technicians. At one point, I saw 3 different technicians for 3 consecutive appointments. For one appointment, I was late because the address on Google (I use in case of traffic) led me to a CEMETERY, clearly changed from a disgruntled employee. The final straw was this last appointment, which for some reason was scheduled for 2AM instead of the 2PM I requested. When I realized the online booking system was showing that time, I tried to call the office to ensure my appointment was still correct on their end. I called 5 times over 5 hours, and texted, and never got a response. I thought it best I didn’t show up to my appt, and I’m glad I didn’t. Today I got a text saying my appt was canceled as of last Friday bc their technician couldn’t come in this Monday for my appt, and they asked when I’d like to reschedule. I was never notified of my cancelation, and I receive auto texts for up to an hour before every appt. They never apologized for the confusion or for never calling me back the day of my appt. The hassle isn’t worth the discount from Groupon. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere and suggest everyone to do the same.

If I could give zero stars I would. I would strongly recommend you don’t use this service. I purchased 6 sessions, was confirmed I only used 5 and then the owner said I did do 6 although I have a record of only doing 5. Not that it matters because the laser they use does not work at all. I’ve used laser in multiple places for years and have seen zero results with this place. They take 5 minutes to do your full legs, so the speed in which they do it should have been a warning. They leave large areas undone and hence why it is not effective. On top of that they are extremely poorly organized, the worst experience I’ve had by far. I would get there and they would say there were 30 minutes behind (only to take 45 minutes) and every time they would claim they called or texted and I could clearly show them I did not get any heads up. On two other occasions I got there and they told me they had to rescheduled because the machine was broken. Honestly do not do it. It’s definitely not worth your money or your time. They also don’t remember your name or treatment area. One day they try to do laser on a different area and I had to show them my receipt to prove it wasn’t that area despite me having gone 2 other times with the same lady.
