Dermatology Affiliates (East Cobb)

This was my first visit to Dermatology Affiliates in East Cobb. Katie was absolutely wonderful, as was all the rest of the staff. I couldn’t be happier! She took great care of me and I definitely recommend this practice to anyone. They took me right on time too which is greatly appreciated.

I went here for my first ever annual skin screening and the appointment was fine. I confirmed after booking that this was for my annual screening, confirmed again the morning of my appointment at the desk, and have attached a screenshot that this was for the annual screening. I told them I had never done this before and they were very nice and everything seemingly was fine. I checked out and they rescheduled me for next year and told me there was no charge with my insurance since it was just the annual. Imagine my surprise when I have a $112 bill. I called their (super rude and unprofessional) billing department. She barely let me say why I was calling before putting me on hold and cutting me off. Came back and told me because I asked a question that they were charging me for outside of the annual appointment. I asked what was my question that was out of the normal line of questioning? She said "the doctor asked if you had any concerns and you pointed out two spots and asked if they were concering." That is beyond the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. If I am answering the question the doctor asked then why am I being charged for answering??? She was very curt and rude and told me to call the front desk. I called and the guy who answered said he "took down all my information and what happened and would be sure to follow up with a manager and doctor in the morning because they had just left for the day." Well that was 5 days ago and I still have this charge and no one has followed up. If any of my concerns or questions were out of the normal scope of an annual appointment then they should have made that clear before answering them. I also have just gone to the general doctor, dentist, optometrist, and gynecologist and every single one asked me if I had any concerns to address and did not charge me for anything but my annual which is covered by my insurance. Highly disappointed as I went there and thought it was a great first impression for a skin doctor. In today's economy, charging clients outside of the scope of what was discussed is a disgusting way to do business. I would not recommend doing any business here unless you want hidden charges to dispute later.

As a new patient, I was able to get an appointment quickly and during the day/time I needed. The staff was friendly and Katherine was great in listening to my concerns and coming up with a treatment plan. I’m happy to be getting established with this practice.

Emily is absolutely amazing! She really takes the time to listen to your concerns and comes up with a thoughtful and intelligent treatment plan or course of action. I can’t recommend her enough!

I arrived early as instructed, and there were a few ahead of me, but as soon as I signed in I was called back. Emily did an amazing job as usual, but equally as important is her personal care for each patient. She’s a real asset to the practice.
