Tara T.

Never went into a less compassionate Doctors office in my life. I have been suffering with chronic eczema for over a year. In march when i had another flare up i decided to seek help from a specialist. I am a massage therapist therefore my hands are even more crucial. I met with the NP in april. Extremely sleep deprived from persistent and relentless itching that they tend to feel like a thousand pieces of glasses in my hands. The nurse practioner came in like a whirl wind. She started speaking so far. She was starting to give me the same treatment i recieved from my primary. Completely defeated i began to cry. I told her she wasn’t listening and was gonna do the same treatment that didn’t i had done before and if she would please biopsy to rule out psoriasis. They did, and gave me an injection. In may, i went for results. The same NP came in and said the tests came back with chronic eczema. She gave me a choice of treatment plans. I adked what she suggested. She said the shot. She said it may take a little bit to get insurance approval but that is what she recommended. I never heard back from them. Right around the forth of july, still trying to heal. The speciality pharmacist and i had spoken. The insurance wanted a medically necessary letter. The specialty pharmasist had sent the office a form. The dr’s office called me twice…once, to say the pharmasist needed something from me (no, they needed the form from the office still) and once putting it on the pharmasist. So, when i called they couldn’t stall me anymore. When finally corrected. They said, the nurse practioner was not gonna be back in the office til after the holiday. Called after the holiday and this time, they want me to come back into the office. I asked them why? We know what it is. and, with this going on. It has been difficult to work ( it is difficult to do anything, even sleep) that would be another co pay. why can't they just prescribe me option 2. How is the insurance company going to believe something is medically necessary when dr's office isn't treating it as such by taking months to say it is. i went to urgent care. The dr's office was closed. oral steroids again. Long story short, what i feared, insurance company denied the approval. Teetering on reality that i might just have to go on short term disability and let them completely heal. and see, very upsetting that i may have to do something else. I spoke to the owner about it. She got in touch with her insurance rep stating, she pays for health insurance and now i may have to go on medical disability because they are denying me the medicine. This has swallowed up my entire summer. No pools. The days i didn’t work, completely dedicating to resting and healing my hands. I called the dr’s office one last time…to see if i could go into the office to get my injection there? The woman i sooke to said “oh, you haven’t been seen since may. She is gonna want to see me. 😳 why? Nothing has changed. I have never in my life had a dr’s office seem to only care about co pays and have no sense of compassion toward me. I can’t speak for anyone else but, if anyone has or is suffering from chronic eczema on their hands, it is difficult and often painful to do anything. And, it has become all consuming, just about every aspect of my life.

I went to Dr. Vicik years ago and was so satisfied. He use to be very professional and cared about his patients. After my last experiences for myself, my husband, and my son....I will NEVER go back. We waited forever to be seen. When Dr. Vicik FINALLY showed up, I felt like he was rushing to see us. Two of our visits were "follow-ups." How dare he charge a co-pay when he didn't even spend 5 minutes in the room. He is milking his patients for money. Quit worrying about the almighty dollar and care for your patients!

The staff here worked patiently with my problem skin for over a year. They helped me find solutions when I couldn't afford a certain treatment or when my insurance wouldn't cover it. When we opted to try Accutane, they made sure they answered all of my questions and helped make the experience as pleasant as possible (it worked btw). I never felt rushed or disrespected in any of my appointments.

I’ve been seeing Jami Mannle for years for various skin concerns and yearly check ups. She is always incredibly nice and thorough. I’ve never had any issues with the front desk staff, very friendly.

Zero stars for Dr. Vicik, one for his caring staff. Vicik nearly killed me in 2010 with a misdiagnosis that led me down a completely dangerous treatment path. On top of that, his complete lack of empathy towards me when he gave me said misdiagnosis (he stormed out of the exam room while I was crying and told his nurse to “just deal with this”) was appalling and disgusting. Also, it’s worth mentioning that he gave me this diagnosis after looking at me for a period of 3 minutes and not performing any laboratory or diagnostic testing. Dr. Vicik needs to retire and no longer practice medicine.
