I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to finally share an upsetting and unforgettable experience I had with Gerstein. Throughout my interactions, I felt unwelcome and unfairly treated due to my race. The conversations were uncomfortable and, in my opinion, bordered on being racist. Gerstein consistently avoided addressing my health concerns and went so far as to make unprofessional comments about my personal appearance, such as my hair and lips. I was then told that I did not need to return to his office; instead, he would write prescriptions over the phone, which strikes me as a dismissive approach to patient care. I was deeply disappointed and appalled by the treatment I received, but I''ve been hearing others with similar experiences in Carmel, IN. healthcare. I urge anyone seeking care to consider this review seriously before deciding to engage with Gerstein.

I have only talked to Dr. Gerstein for 10 mins for my mole removal consultation and then decided to find another dermatologist. I want to share my personal opinion regarding his communication style so that other potential clients can choose.After all there are lots of good doctors in Indy. When I went into the office with him and his student, he saw my last name on the information form and immediately commented," that cannot be your original last name." Then he wants to know where I came from originally, where I work, where my husband works etc. While that might be his idea of small talk, I feel like all of the conversations make me feel uncomfortable, and quite frankly, it's none of his business. After that, he strongly suggested I use this new method (with a 91% accurate rate) to check my mole, requiring me to go back to the office at least two times to get the result back. The amount of time and energy and $100 co-pay for his service are not worth it for me.

Dr Gerstein is kind, patient, and knowledgeable dermatologist. His staff are so nice to work with. I appreciate how much extra time they take to educate me on how to care of my skin. They also take the time to learn about the concerns I have with my skin. If you want the feel of a small office with great customer service Meridian Dermatology is the perfect fit for you. My husband & I have been a patients for years and we highly recommend Dr Gerstein & his Aesthetician.

I took my daughter, age 8, here for treatment for molluscum. Dr. Gerstein, the NP, and the office staff have been very welcoming, efficient, and kind. I have never had to wait longer than 5 minutes for my appointment, and everyone has made my somewhat shy daughter feel very comfortable. Highly recommend!

I visited this dermatologist about an issue I was having which he was very dismissive of, and when I tried to show him eczema scars on my back in hopes of getting a script he refused to look at it. That day he sent me on my way and told his assistant not to charge me for the visit. Months later I come to find out I have an outstanding balance with the office that has been turned over to a debt collectors agency. I normally don’t write bad reviews but I’ve been to many doctors in my life and this particular experience left me feeling completely frustrated. Find a more professional dermatologist.
