Advanced Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center, PA

I was seen for severe hair loss and told to take biotin, get some labs done, and come back in a month. Between appointments, NP Josh Schell never called to review my lab results. He then proceeded to prescribe a medication without telling me what it does, the side effects or contraindications, or why it was prescribed to me. When I called and asked the nurse why this medication was prescribed she said, “it’s just a common medicine for hair loss.” Truly reckless behavior. I do not recommend this clinic.

I had a very bad experience with this dermatologist. The nurses and receptionists were all arrogant, did not answer any of my questions, and frowned upon me the entire time. I went here twice for checkups and the doctor did not do any tests, just prescribed medications and did not follow up with me. Of course, the medications had no effect on my skin problems. It was truly a waste of my time.

I don't remember who saw me but shortly after I moved to Manhattan I went to Advanced Dermatology to get some cream for an eczema rash. The Dr. looked at the rash and said it was just dry skin and all he was going to "prescribe" was to use lotion or a hand cream. I had seen a Dr. before I moved and they said it was eczema, gave me some prescription cream which I used and it went away. I told him this and he said he still thought it was just dry skin. I went to an actual Dr. about a week later and they said it was eczema and gave me a prescription cream and it went away. The person here also said he saw "something" on my back and wanted to biopsy it to make sure it wasn't cancerous. It wasn't. Looking back on the whole thing I think the biopsy was almost like retaliation for doubting him.

Seen July 1st for a lump on my arm. Handed an order for ultrasound. Ultrasound is not a walk in procedure, I found. I had to reach out to them to send the order as most doctors do. Had my ultrasound and told results would be available that evening. I have called multiple times, including today to get the results, sat on hold for over 40 minutes for a nurse.....they closed and nobody ever picked up. Here I am over a month from my appointment without any answers. I will be looking elsewhere for my dermatology needs.

I was going to have a procedure on my face and I was very nervous about it. After Dr. Adams and the staff I felt very confident that I was in good hands. After they spoke to me my anxiety level was way less. Everything went smoothly as they assured it would and I dont even have a scar on my nose. Dr. Adams seemed extremely intelligent but was also down to earth (which is hard to find).
