I’ve been coming to this dermatologist office for a while now, and I absolutely love the care I get from the doctor. They’re thorough, knowledgeable, and genuinely make me feel like my skin concerns matter. That part’s fantastic. But every single time I visit, the receptionist is just rude—short-tempered, dismissive, you name it. I really don’t want to judge an entire practice by the person at the front desk, especially since it’s probably the lowest-paying gig there, but it’s consistent, and it’s starting to wear on me. I shouldn’t dread walking through the door because of that one interaction. Still, the doctor’s care keeps me coming back—for now."
I first went to Dr Viall for a rash on my chest, she prescribed a cream which only cleared it up about 25%. A few months later, I went to see her again because I developed 3 new rashes in other areas. Without even looking at them, she declared they were all the same, to just continue with the cream she prescribed the last time, and she'll see me again in a year. It's been 2 weeks of using her prescription religiously, and the rashes have gotten so much worse. I asked reddit for better Dermatologist recommendations, alluding to a bad experience without naming names. 2 separate people dm'ed me asking if it was at Dermatology of Acadiana because they had similar unhelpful, dismissive experiences.
I’m so disappointed to leave this review. I called to inquire about a service I had paid for previously, in cash, and was told that I could no longer receive this service because it had been over a year since I had purchased. Okay, fair, even though I don’t ever recall being told this, but maybe my memory is just failing me. Fair enough, I had gotten pregnant and chose to nurse my baby for a year, so I couldn’t use the service, safely (that’s what I was told on the phone when I called to cancel my appointment). But the part that truly made me disappointed was not the fact that the service could no longer be used (even though I have already paid in full…I do not understand how cash expires), but it was the disrespectful receptionist representing their business. Her tone was completely rude and her mind had been made up that I was making a ridiculous request. I tried explaining that I had gotten pregnant and nursed for a year, so I had to stop treatment. However, she continued to speak to me as if she were irritated that I had called their office for a service and asked questions for her to explain the situation. No worries, I will just spend my money with another dermatologist in the area, and make sure to ask if there’s a time limit on the service purchased. In the future, I hope they either invest in training their receptionists on how to communicate respectfully or choose another employee to interact with their customers.
First visit as a new patient. The visit was comfortable and very organized. The staff was good, and Dr. Kennedy was great. My issue was addressed quickly, and I was informed about everything in question! I got a treatment for my issue along with written information. I will be going back for any future issue I might have!
My experience was great with Dr. Kennedy, it was so good I decided to get my family in too. UNTIL I called to make my daughter an appointment this morning, I called first thing in the morning and you would think the receptionist would be refreshed and ready for the day, she was not nice at all and very rude with every question that was asked like I was a bother to her, really makes me consider switches places, in every business the most important thing is getting a friendly warm greeting, not to be made feeling like you were a bother when you called..
