Dr. Rose and his assistant, Sophia were AMAZING! Dr. Rose explained my condition so that I could understand it and then explained the procedure. He put me at ease and I felt I was in very good hands. Sophia explained everything as she prepped me for the procedure. Both of them were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and nice. Thank you.
I had some special issues that made choosing frames a little harder. Maddy was amazing! She helped me in seven different ways! She was excited about finding the best possible frame for me. She went digging and found some really great options. She was helpful in narrowing things down as well. Honest. Invested. I hope they know what an asset she is!
I could not have been more pleased with the entire cataract surgery experience. Dr. Bozorg and her staff were very professional and efficient from initial evaluation right through to the operation itself. Everyone was organized, friendly and helpful. The results have been excellent and I have no hesitation about returning to Maine Eye if cataract surgery becomes necessary for my other eye.
I am so, so thankful for this practice… but most especially thankful for Dr Benjamin Fowler. I developed a serious eye issue and I thought it was game over for me. He took care of me quickly and I think I’ll be back to normal again thanks to him. What was once a dark place for me is now a bright future thanks to him. Thank you so much for the help I have received !
I am stunned at the interaction I had today with this practice. I tried to make an appointment with the ophthalmologist I had seen three years ago for a follow-up. I consulted her then because my vision had deteriorated and I suspected that I might have cataracts. In fact I did. I was pleased with the care, and I went on to have cataract surgery with Dr. Borzog, who was excellent. My primary care doctor recently recommended that I see an ophthalmologist for a checkup since it had been a while. I was told that the notes in my record (from 3 years ago) showed that the doctor said "she didn't need to see me", so they couldn't make an appointment until they messaged her to see if she was "willing to see me". I pressed, but the staff was clear that they needed the doctor's permission to make the appointment. At the end of the day, they called back and said that I could make an appointment with an optometrist in the practice, that the doctor had no time in her schedule, and that even if she did see me she would send me to the optometrist. Note that the American Academy of Ophthalmology says that: "For individuals 65 years old or older, the American Academy of Ophthalmology recommends an examination every 1 to 2 years, even in the absence of symptoms." I am 72 years old, and my last appointment was 3 years ago. They didn't ask if I was experiencing any vision problems, if my medications and health status had changed - nothing. They simply said the doctor didn't have time, and that she didn't "need" to see me. I'm not using her name, because she seemed caring and attentive when I met her 3 years ago, and I suspect it's the practice that is setting the standard here. BEWARE!
