I came to Mercy hospital for abdominal pain that has been bad for the previous four days. Hoping to come to Mercy ER to get treatment to figure out what is going on; it was the worse experience possible. John’s Hopkins is better than the unprofessionalism I experienced here at Mercy. I arrive to the hospital around 12 pm with many attempts to determine when I would be seen and what would happen it took seven hours. And my name was never called to the back. Going on 8 hours later Allison ER Triage Tech I asked her nicely at first she brushed me off by saying you still have a wait. She is not compassionate or empathetic. I asked the nurse who said that there are two people in front of me. They called four people before me. So the nurse lied to my face. Also how did someone who arrived two hours after me get seen before me. That was my first and last time at Mercy.

Wristband security squad needs to chill out, they do far too much and start shouting and being ignorant every time I come up here, my father has been here twice for very invasive and scary surgeries having to be hospitalized for 2 weeks at a time just to deal with captain wristband downstairs “WHERE YOU GOING” while literally standing still in the lobby talking to family, going absolutely nowhere. They straight up abuse patients family down there constantly, especially the day shift, I never had trouble with the night shift security.

Waiting time on the emergency room, it's forever. I understand a lot of people go there for none emergency situations or just sleep in there. But you can tell who really needs help. 7 hours Waiting on a very slow day, not acceptable. Also, there is no water to drink in the waiting area. Only vending machines are available. We all know a lot of people going there don't have any money in their pockets. I don't know how, but it needs to be fixed, i guess. (Doctors and nurses are very friendly. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for them)

I was hospitalized the week before Christmas at Mercy Orthopedic after a full ankle replacement surgery done by Dr. Schon's team of true professionals. From the receptionists to the surgical assistants, everyone was so kind and accommodating. We live in Phila and I will be coming to Baltimore for literally years to come because I need both my ankles replaced because of AVN. The procedure was incredibly complex, requiring bone grafts as well as reconstructive techniques pioneered by Dr. Schon. His team is amazing. Ernestine was always spot on with surgery details and expectations; I am grateful for her guidance and expertise as well. And now to the hospital staff....I couldn't have asked for a more compassionate, kind and attentive team to navigate me through some very difficult and painful episodes. I want to mention as many as I can now to acknowledge them. The nurses, Thankeka, Catherine, and Haley were phenomenal. The tech girls were attentive and so kind as well- a special shout out to Arielle, Mia, and Marquita! I also had two sessions of PT, and Matt and Chris carefully taught me how to navigate my knee scooter and manage living with just one leg for a while. This is going to be a long term adjustment for me, because as soon as the one ankle heals enough, I have to have the other one done as well. James the anesthesiologist was a calming factor in an otherwise very stressful time for me, so I was grateful for his sweet demeanor that put me at ease. Dr. Lisa who was the follow up attending doctor, was so understanding of my pain situation and was supportive in requesting another day in the hospital since I was not even able to stand 36 hours after the surgery because of extreme weakness and pain. I also can't forget to mention Sonia who with her joyful demeanor, was there to assure that my room was kept neat and tidy daily. It was also reassuring that the hospital could send clerics to administer communion if you wanted it, and having that time with Sister Helen and Father John set my mind at ease with their genuine kindness. I can say that in my many years of needing medical care over the years, Mercy Hospital has been the best experience ever from A-Z. This hopefully is a reflection of great management, and leadership from above. Thank you all for helping me navigate this intense ordeal, and for all of you as you continue to grow your angel wings. Sincerely, Deborah Lefevre

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Scott Huber and his staff. From December 6th onward, there were constant issues, including scheduling mishaps, rude and unprofessional staff (specifically Erica and Candace W.), and lack of accountability. On the day of my colonoscopy, I was left waiting for hours in the cold without proper communication, only to find my appointment had been altered without notice. The doctor was rude, lacked bedside manner, and deflected blame onto me and the computer system. To make matters worse, my records were inaccurate, listing the wrong provider and missing key information. This team’s negligence, poor communication, discrimination and unprofessionalism caused me to miss two days of work. I wouldn’t recommend this office to anyone.
