Highly recommend Dr. Adlam. She listened to my concerns, explained and talked through all of the options to find the best fit for me. Both Taylor and the nurse were very personable and professional. Wait time was under 5 minutes, everything else was very efficient and smooth.
While this doesn't reflect the doctor, it reflects the lack of care by the office staff. The staff is unprofessional (I don't need to hear about your love life), long wait times, and lack of information (aftercare notes, etc.) is given to you when you try to check out. The billing and insurance department is a nightmare. They will incorrectly bill your insurance, send bills that don't indicate their billing policies (they will send you to collections despite paying payments bi-weekly), it's nearly impossible to get personable service, and to top it off they cannot send you paper documentation of where your payments go if you happen to pay over (remember the insurance issue, not sure where the extra was allocated).
The absolutely worst dermatology office. Their phone system sucks. You can't get through to anyone easily. It is a chore getting through their many menu options. At the time of my first appointment when you fill out paperwork and check the box for medical records to be sent to your primary care physician it is not done. I had to leave a VM and then it takes 3 -5 business days.
Doctor Law is nice. Communication with this place tho is the worst healthcare experience I’ve ever had. It’s the only clinic that for some reason doesn’t have visit summary or medicine instructions in their patient portal, so if you have many topical creams you have to remember what the doctor said to you in the office cuz once you’re out the door there’s no trace for your visit. And if you’re lucky, you can get hold of someone after calling 7 times, and they sound like they would rather die than talk to you. When you explain your concerns or ask any questions, the person who answered would always direct you to the voice mail line💀💀💀. I suggest you look somewhere else for your skin needs.
I wanted to take a day to think about this and process as sometimes the stress of the moment can lead to skewed perception. I know now I am not in the wrong here. I visited the berkley office on 02/12/2025. I saw Erin the nurse practitioner as I was desperate to see a provider. I had a rash that wasn't going away with topical steroids, benadryl and other remedies I was trying. First of-- I did not like the way she looked at me when she came in. She had a look of disgust that said get away from me. I don't know if they have cameras or audio in the treatment rooms-- but if you look at them you will see what I am talking about. Now I don't know this woman from a hole in a wall and did nothing to her for her to approach me that way. I began to describe my issues and showed her the problem areas-- citing that I had used benadryl to try and combat what I was feeling. I also told her this was unlike anything I had ever experienced before letting her know I had eczema and allergic reactions before and this felt more prickly like an itchy sweater. She laughed that off. Then asked if I had tried Benadryl even with me telling her I did when I told her what i tried. This let me know she didn’t care to listen. She immediately asked did I use something stronger topically and when I said no she insisted that it would help with the itching. She also said it could be dry skin because of the weather. If you could see the way my skin looked any idiot could see it wasn’t dry skin. I pride myself in a pretty consistent skin routine that includes regular moisturizing and while I am not saying my skin (or anyones skin) would be exempt from being dry this was clearly something else. What i am saying is from the moment i walked in there and she saw me she made an assumption already of what she was going to say and do and that was get me the hell out of there without really listening to what i was saying. She then said she would give me some topical steroids and if it didn't get better she would just have me come back and then do a biopsy. I had to insist on getting the biopsy because why would I leave to have something that may not work only to have to come right back? I was told the biopsy would come back in 10 days. Of Course as I predicted, her "treatment plan" did not work and I ended up going back today. I saw Dr. ADLAM who has been very proactive with my treatment for other issues and she definitely saw how irritated and miserable I was and prescribed some medications to actually get me some relief while we wait for results. The treatment plans for Dr. Adlam and Erin are like night and day. Dr. ADLAM gave me insight as to what she thinks it may be but also gave me options for treatment. She listened to me which is fundamental when working with patients in a medical setting. I don’t feed into the whole race agenda thing but I believe she had a problem with me. Stay away if you can. I emailed their so called office manager but no one has even bothered to answer. They clearly don’t Care.
