I rarely post low reviews but when it comes to health providers I believe transparency and communication is key for your patients to trust you. After my consultation with the Dr. (She was very professional and addressed my concerns, I have no complaints about her) I received a call like 5 minutes after leaving the facility wanting to schedule a removal for the following week even though for regular appointments usually have to wait over a month for availability. The person scheduling the appointment could not provide me with any information of how much the procedure will cost. I understand that the out of pocket amount is only known after sending the bill to the insurance. I knew that most likely the insurance was not going to cover and I just wanted to be prepared. I just wanted to know how much they charge for the procedure and she couldn’t tell me that. She communicated that there was no upfront payment, that they just bill to the insurance and then you are billed for the part the insurance did not cover. I ended up scheduling the appointment but became so worried afterwards about the hidden fees that ended up canceling it. The lady made the approach feel like a sales person and I just couldn’t trust them.

Scheduling as a new patient referred from a pediatrician has been a terrible experience. We were not able to make the first appointment due to weather, and left a voicemail with details about our concern with ongoing symptoms as we had waited over a month for the first appointment. There was no callback, and when we called back to schedule three days later, the receptionist was very curt, showed no empathy for the situation, offered no alternatives for what we should do other than simply stating that another appointment was not open for 3 more weeks. Hopefully the health providers we deal with at the appointment are more friendly and helpful.

The whole experience could’ve went a lot different, if the Dr. had bit less desensitized to the people who need help. Unless, it was because I’m more middle class than an elite member of society. I wasn’t really asked what was going on. I had to keep interrupting her with questions she never tried to ask. I was told acne to start and left with paperwork of 5 different skin disorders. Still at where I left off. Questions unanswered.

Facility is very modern and clean. All of the staff are extremely nice and professional. I have always gotten in and out quickly. Dr. Nartker is amazing. Could not ask for a better experience.

It was my first time at Derm Institute of West Michigan. I was very pleased if the hospitality from check in to check out. The Staff was Awesome. The Doctor and his Assistant took the time out to listen to me and addressed every question I asked. They made me feel like they was pleased to have me as a new. patient. I even got a follow up call.
