Don't have a problem with the service just have an issue with their billing policy. The last time I was here was able to split up the $200 payment, but they wouldn't let me do that this time. I'm probably going to limit my doctor visits for the time being because of this policy.

I try not to judge based on only one poor experience because mistakes happen, so I went to this office again a year later to readdress the recurring issue that I was previously seen for. Unfortunately this experience was even worse than the last. Staff is clearly pressured to move quickly, so there is very little time with the providers and it feels like they are unwilling to take patient concerns seriously. The nurse cut me off while I explained why I made the appointment, and when the PA came in for my exam, she failed to address any of the info I WAS able to share with the nurse. The PA rushed through the exam so quickly she didn't notice my issue for herself (surprising since it is obvious to me & other people I spend time around), and I had to interrupt her while she was heading for the door to ask about it! I wish I could say that my concern was properly addressed after that, but even her response felt dismissive with minimal effort. I left without any further information about my issue, feeling like I spent WAY too much to receive little attention / consideration for a recurring problem that I already paid this office once to try to fix. My lesson is learned, and I will not be going back here. P.S. Giving two stars because the office is clean & uses modern technology well, and I think one-star reviews are overused.

I feel as though the goal in this office is quantity over quality of care. I've had numerous spots removed in various ways over the years. I have a very serious chronic health condition that is exacerbated by prolonged stress on my body. I've explained this in this office before and have received appropriate care in the past... which means removing and stitching vs. freezing, shaving, or creams that leave me with an open wound that won't heal quickly, which causes me to get sick and can cause an adrenal crisis. My body responds better and heals quickly from removal and stitches. I'm tired of explaining this to their medical staff and then in turn they try to explain it's the same amount stress on the body - it's not and I have lived it. A few days of healing vs. weeks of a wound that will eventually heal - will literally put my body into adrenal crisis and cause more permanent harm to my body and potentially an ER visit. I don't mind that they don't fully understand my condition, but they should eventually educate themselves. I made my appointment today and confirmed with staff on the phone that it was for removal of spots, not just a skin check. I even had someone come with me to drive, because I know my initial reaction leaves me dizzy. I was told by the provider I couldn't have anything removed and that would be another appointment. I was also provider-splained too when I tried to explain the different reactions my body has - when it was clear as day I know more about my rare condition and how my body responds. Had they checked my health history, even just in their office they'd have seen proof of what I was saying. I was then over charged for my copay even though I had a document with proof of my copay amount. The person checking me out refused to charge me the correct amount and thought my health insurance would refund me the difference. I had to explained to her that since I am paying her it would in fact be her office that owes me money when it bounces back from my insurance. I would love to give this office the benefit of the doubt, but the quality of every interaction here has declined. I work in healthcare and I know the difference in an office that puts $ over quality of care/experience and an office that is actually concerned about their patient's health. Edit: Forgot to mention no one asked my to put a robe or gown on and wasn't given a chance to though they knew I needed a spot on my back looked at. When the provider came in, I had to take my shirt off and sat there uncovered - which didn't feel like standard protocol and hasn't been in the past. Completely awkward. They wanted me in and out as fast as possible.

This has been one of most efficient run medical offices I have been cared for in the Portage / Kalamazoo area. The staff is very positive and uplifting. Thank you one and all.

I thought I was treating badly. I went in because I had a mole on my arm. Had it for years but at times it would look different. Went in for office call there was a couple of people in there. Not sure if they were students or what. Anyway the Dr. glanced at it and said oh that's nothing to worry about. That's not what we are looking for. Two of them looked at each other as if to say I was stupid or something. They made me feels terrible. I explained that my father had died from melanoma and it was not an easy death. They didn't even put a light on it and look at it I want back to my primary physician and seen a different doctor in the office because I couldn't get in to mine he put a light on it immediately he said it was didn't look like anything to worry about but for my peace of mind they could take it off they took it off right there in the office sent it in for a biopsy and it came back precancerous thanks a lot Southwest Michigan dermatologists maybe you should take things like that a little more seriously will never return to your office again or refer anyone to you. I'm also glad that I went with my gut instinct and not your professional opinion
