Schweiger Dermatology Group - Edina

I am not one to leave a bad review but I am wildly disappointed with the micro needling service I had done today. I was told over the phone when I booked the appointment it would be 300.00 and upon arrival was told it was 400.00. Not that big of a deal, but we discussed my concerns and problem areas and I explained I wanted my main point of focus to be my under eyes. The woman was lovely but did not at all explain that she was not willing to treat this area. When I got home and realized that the one area I wanted to be treated was not at all treated I reached out to her and said that i was surprised that none of my under eye was treated. She said she can not go above the orbital bone. However the treatment was close to an inch below my orbital bone. I also explained that I have had micro needling in the past and this area has always been treated and had she just told me during the consultation process that she was not willing to treat my areas of concerns, I would have went to a provider that would have. I’ve talked to numerous professionals and have realized that this woman gave me misinformation on numerous things. I understand that micro needling should not be done directly on the eyes and you can not go as deep in these areas, but the areas under my eyes I was asking to be treated is absolutely safe to microneedle and I find it a little concerning that I am better educated on this than she is. ultimately I feel mislead and as though I wasted 400.00 because she did not just tell me she was not comfortable of competent to treat an area of concern that a trained professional should be able to. Had an appointment with Dr. Backer in May and he was great. Paid for my appointment in full and authorized my credit card to be on file for any outstanding charges, but I just received a letter from debt collections 5 months later for “past due balances” that are not legitimate and have never been communicated to me prior to receiving the letter.

Schweiger recently took over from ZEL. Service providers and staff are good quality. Sadly, the overall Schweiger Dermatology group has a predatory billing service. I just filed a BBB complaint about this. ZEL was always transparent about the charges and fees. Schweiger is living up to its bad reputation for opaque charges and made up fees on your invoice. Don't give them your business.

Terrible experience with the nurse practitioner I saw. She was completely impersonal, could have cared less about my true concerns, and ended up misquoting me. I paid $200 to be treated like a commodity on a conveyer belt.

I asked if freezing off a skin tag was covered by insurance. My PA told me it was. Then they billed me over $200 and refused to take responsibility for their error. Additionally, the energy of the practice is rude. Run!
