It has been 10 years since Dr Mata performed an extremely incorrect procedure from what I signed up for and what I received. I’m still numb on one side of my forehead and the other side droops. He described a fat injection, which was OK, but went on to add a “minor” bilateral lid lift described as a few stitches in the upper eyebrows. I had a ticket to fly to Atlanta booked in 2 weeks and told him. He said that was fine. I was to be picked up from Lourdes at 4:30 pm, after surgery at 10. I ended up with 28 stitches across my entire forehead and my friend came to pick me up at 4:30. I was so sick and she told me there was blood all over my pillow. They had to call in another anesthesiologist, who had to work another few hours which totaled me being under general anesthesia for a total of about four hours. I had to stay overnight in the hospital and we got Dr. Matas notes from the surgery. He recorded his notes at 1 AM and came into my room with his wife at 6 AM offering me some Jell-O after I threw up. All I wanted to do was get out of the hospital. I tried to sue him and the anesthesiologist who took over my surgery, told me, that the surgery should never have lasted that long. I tried to sue and you might as well forget that. My anesthesiologist said he was willing to stand up for me, but I could get no plastic surgeon who would make any commitment to testify. I had a lawyer who said I had a case, but after he couldn’t find a doctor to testify, it was over. I will never forget this terrible experience that I still to this day have lost my forehead hairline from. Never ever ever ever go to this person who needs to retire 20 years ago

I went in for a breast reduction consultation. I'm not excessively large but enough that with my small frame I'm having neck pain and recuring migraines from the neck strain. He treated me like it was ridiculous I was even there. He made me feel like I was wasting his time to even see me. I was so uncomfortable. He said they would try to get the insurance to approve it. However the entire appointment I felt like he was just trying to talk me out of it and terrify me about the end results and residual issues that you may experience. The office never even called me back to let me know if the insurance was willing to approve or not. I was hesitant enough to even go for the appointment and it was a horrible experience

I've never been so unhappy about my lip coming here. It has been ruined by the Binghamton plastic surgeon, an experience I will never forget. In April 2017, I had an incident where I bit the bottom of my lip. After some weeks, I recovered quickly, and things felt normal. However, there was a slightly rounded bump. You would think going to a plastic surgeon to look and feel happy about yourself, unfortunately not so much in this case. I decided to visit Dr. Mata because I had work done before removing beauty marks on my face, which turned out to be acceptable. After he examined me, I followed up for the surgery in July 2017. Later, I had the stitches removed. Seeing the outcome, I was disappointed and displeased. It looked and felt worse than before. It is noticeable when resting or talking where my lip line no longer naturally sits straight. There is a crease or dip, which I never had prior to the surgery. I can feel where too much of the tissue was cut off. With that said, I have an unpleasant, numb feeling to deal with for the rest of my entire life. I started to think the surgeon had never done this kind of procedure even with his 30+ years of experience. Dealing with the outcome, it has made me insecure because I love to sing and take photos and videos. A slight numb feeling arises here or there. I feel embarrassed, less confident, and uneasy speaking most of the time, which is infuriating. It may not be a big deal. However, anytime I view photos and videos during the day and night, you can see where the damage was done under any lighting condition. I will no longer have that natural luminance at any angle. After 6-8 months, I saw Dr. Mata again to see if he could fix it. He suggested I should massage it and give it time since the surgery was necessary to prevent future disease development. I followed up again 2 years later to find out it was a pointless procedure, and he did not want to fix it. This left the impression that the doctor only did it for the money, with no thought or care as to how it appears in the future. I used to consider my lip a beautiful, attractive feature of mine. Now? that peace of mind and happiness is gone. It puts me in a place of constant disapproval in the mirror. I wish it could be fixed, but I will live with a "butt cheek reflection" on my lip. If you are planning to have anything done here for your lip, I would not recommend it, do not visit. Think twice before you do because it can potentially affect you psychologically the long run. The surgery costs more than $1,600. Sure, 6 are other things in life that could be a lot worse. However, I am reminded of every moment by the outcome while dealing with post-traumatic syndrome. If there is absolutely one person in the world I genuinely hate, his name is Dr. Mata, a surgeon who I can never forgive.

I went to him concerning a breast reduction. After viewing some photos I asked if, after the surgery, they would be firm at all. He said at my age it shouldn’t matter anyway (doesn’t matter, but I was only in my 30s). Then proceeded to take photos of me topless and it wasn’t until I was already exposed that I realized the window blinds were open and people were outside. I left the office feeling worse than I did going in. Although I didn’t say anything, the nurse knew I was not coming back and after the dr left she gave me another dr’s name and number.

My child’s primary had us call Dr Mata due to him having originally seeing him for similar issue a couple years back. After calling the office, they initially declined to see him and gave us the number for a different doctor to call. After calling back Dr Mata’s office back and discussing with them how the other plastic surgeons office thought it was “very strange” to have been given the number of a different Doctor, the office scheduled us an appointment. Dr Mata barely examined the child, and diagnosed him with a bizarre idea that the wound was actually a growth, even though it was witnessed event and caused by trauma. Dr wanted to schedule my son for general anesthesia and surgery without any further discussion of how his findings didn’t seem to add up. Obtained a second opinion form a oral surgeon which advised us that the findings were, as we suspected, just bizarre and incorrect. On the plus side, his staff was very friendly and caring.
