I went to this doctor for the first time yesterday. I was happy they took my insurance. The waiting room was nice, clean, etc was pretty full but the wait was reasonable time to be seen. I was seen by a PA and doctor. Very nice staff. Very nice doctor. They asked me all the questions you would expect from a dermatologist. Thorough exam. I was putting this off for a while and now overall I am glad I went. I plan to go back again for a checkup type exam on annual basis.

The receptionist are the worst. Everytime I called the office I am always put on hold. They pick up and say “pls hold.” After waiting more than 10 mins I would hang up and call back. When I call back they let the call ring out. The one time I made it to an appointment I witnessed the receptionist answer the phone and put the caller on hold immediately and proceed to engage in pointless personal convos with the other receptionist. After today’s experience I will not deal w. Dr. Cohen or her staff ever again.

I'm a wheelchair bound and a new patient with this dermatologist as of 09/26/23. The first day I arrived at this facility I noticed it was hot, very musty odor in the waiting area, the chairs were full of stain, look like they've been wet and just placed there just overall gross. I had never been so happy to be in a wheelchair. Unfortunately I had to stay because of seborrheic dermatitis flare up in my scalp. My aide had to put me outside so I can catch some air, it was that smelly. I was called within minutes of arriving and as I went inside the exam room it smelled good. The doctor gave me some treatment and a prescription for lab work. I was amazed with the good service I'd received considering how nasty the waiting room was. On 10/17/23 was my second visit and I was looking forward to the same experience I'd received prior, unfortunately it didn't go that way. I arrived at 10:17 a.m. for a 10:30a.m appointment. The moment I was wheeled inside the place was packed with patients. My aide was told 20 minutes delay. 20 minutes went by passing my appointment, still no one called me, I then approach the front desk speaking to an Asian woman I believed she's Asian and this woman was very unprofessional. She began by telling me, that's how they schedule everyone so according to her everybody there had the same appointment time. I replied "it is unprofessional to overbook knowing that there's a great chance a person who's disabled like myself will be waiting 30 plus minutes even an hour to be seen. She should have communicate with me prior of the overbooking when she spoke to me the day before and I would have changed for a later date. . And that this is very unprofessional". Never once was I aggressive, rude or disrespectful. Calmly I addressed her. That woman with an aggressive tone replied "what do you mean it's unprofessional" and accused me of arguing. I simply just informed her if she knew there were this book she should have informed me and I would have scheduled for a later day instead of having to come in a pack facility knowing that I have spine injury and cannot sit in the wheelchair for a long period of time. Thankfully three female patients spoke up, I was not arguing, agreed with the way I handled myself and the situation. And I also told her transportation was literally a few blocks to pick me up and she couldn't care less. According to her that was arguing, even though I approach her in a very calm tone manner and respectful. My transportation picked me up and I went home. I suffer from spine injury and severe sciatic nerve pain(feels like electricity running down my spine) and to have gone to an appointment and made it there way before my appointed time and to just not be seen because of the unprofessional behavior of that facility is wrong. What made matters worse not even my lab that was sent to them four days prior to my appointment they could find, UNBELIEVABLE! I would not be returning back and definitely would not be referring anyone there. The saddest thing about this whole experience, is that when I went online to find this doctor and I read all reviews, they are bad. I didn't want to base my judgment from someone else's experience. I went on my own so I can experience for myself whether they're a good facility or not. Again the first visit was amazing but the second one was horrible! I will not subject myself to this. They are not the only dermatologist in Long Island. If I could have given them a negative I would but unfortunately because you could only give one star I had no choice. They deserve ZERO. Sometimes it's best to really consider those reviews and save yourself a headache 👎👎👎

I've been coming here since I was about 14 years old I am 32 now and today was my last time there. They keep over booking clients Every time I arrive early by 10 min or more I am stuck waiting 40 minutes PLUS after my appointment time. I understand things happen, but lately I've been going weekly because of a pregnancy rash and every week it's the same nonsense, but what really got me is the 2 disrespectful receptionist in the front. The asian/chinese loooking one who has been there forever thinks I didn't hear her talking about me to the older Grey headed Caucasian about not liking the wait we aren't the only dermatologist here. I ignored it and let it go when all I did was ask her how long past my appointment time will i be waiting because I have another dr appointment up until the grey headed elderly caucasian was snotty on the phone to a patient and put the patient on hold and said to the asian/chinese receptionist another big mouth! I've worked in this field before and yes it can be very frustrating especially when dealing with rude clients, but to talk about a patient the way they did me to my face and then about another patient on the phone for all of us in the waiting area to hear was really disgusting. Another patient in the waiting area turned to me and said how nasty I said it really is nasty of them to which she replied this is all the time and I said I know I noticed the same thing and I hope she wasn't referring to me when she said another big mouth I was so upset i grabbed my back grabbed their sign in clip board crossed my name off and said to them both you're both disgusting the way you speak about patients to their face and about those on the phone for us to here and you're absolutely right you're NOT the only dermatologist out her so I will take my business elsewhere to which they stayed quiet as I left (although I'm sure they had plenty to say for all to hear when I left) I will miss Dr Cohen, but this is just to much now. If it's not the forever waiting in the area I'm dealing with, it's them telling me "I don't see an appointment here for you" An appointment that I know I made a week or 2 in advance that they even CALL ME FOR to confirm, but upon arrival "I never had an appointment." I will also be calling to report them to the manager tomorrow, but I'm sure nothing will be done.
