This was the first time going to the Walk-in and was very happy with my care. I was there when the doors open so I was third in line. I saw Sophie Reecher, PA and she was wonderful. Ran some blood work and explained the results throughly to me. The person that drew my blood, which (I’m sorry, I don’t remember her name) did a great job also. Thank you for having a facility here in Norwich!
So far if I could give no stars I would. My son was seen Wednesday. 11:30 reservation time, wasn’t seen by a physician until after 2:00. Whatever. They’re short staffed. I get it, but apparently too short staffed to review test results and phone in necessary medications for going on three days is absolutely absurd and well below standard of care. His MyChart shows a diagnosis of tonsillitis (um yeah, bleeding tonsils was the reason for the visit) and a sinus infection. Seems to me that these infections require antibiotics. So now we wait for tomorrow morning to make another call and wait and pray they get their act together before he gets even more ill.
Had an appointment for 10am, showed up at 958am and was out the door by 11am. The facility was busy but seemed to work smoothly, was clean, everyone was nice. They administered a test, I got my results and a prescription. Very happy, wish it was closer to home.
First time I went, the wait was at least 90 min, so I left because others were in greater need than I and closing time was rapidly approaching. This time, I did the online reservation since I was worse. I discovered the system was glitchy (go Epic!) And my wait would be over 2 hours - past closing time. The receptionist was snarky from the moment I arrived. The nurse and provider were both great. And come to find out, I was sicker than even I knew. The system needs to be rethought.
My son was ill during the night w a fever and vomiting. I know sickness is going around, but because he was unable to keep water down throughout the night I was concerned about dehydration. I brought him to the UHS Norwich Walk In and we saw Kathy Anderson. Kathy and the intake nurse were both wonderful. He was given anti nausea medication, tested for influenza, she listened to his lungs to rule out pneumonia, checked his ears, nose, and throat. We were in & out within an hour. Professional, efficient, and caring service. I was reluctant to bring him due to previous bad experiences, but I'm glad I did.
