After scheduling my appointment and confirming it by text and email, once I arrived they denied me service. They said my Medicare card was no good. Mind you I have been a patient of theirs for over 6 years. Also I had just come from my primary care physician who had no issue with my Medicare card. Rather than help resolve the issue they just denied service. They were very rude and unprofessional. I would not recommend Summit Dermatology to anyone!!!!
This is the worst medical facility i have ever been to. The PA told me my skin condition was "wisdom spots," when it is actually Seborrheic Keratoses and she couldn't find an Actinic Keratosis when I have been treated for those for over a decade. After I pointed this out, she sprayed random places improperly to appease me. I may not be a medical professional, but I know the difference between random sprays and actual treatment because I have had it done every six months for many years. So, I tried the Wilmington office and Dr Shedolfsky was just as clueless.
Absolutely the best care received here! Friendly staff and great doctors! I had some skin cancer removed from my nose and Dr. Sica was very nice and explained everything in great detail. Dr. Sica even called the next morning to see how I was doing! Who does that anymore?? I saw Dr. Riccardeli for the correction after removal who was also fantastic! You don't find physicians like this anymore these days.
My daughter saw one of the PAs here for her eczema. Not only did the treatment work, but her gentle demeanor was great for a young girl who is afraid to go to any Doctor. I appreciated how easy it was to make appointments, park, and the fact that we were actually seen at our scheduled appointment time (!!). Bravo, Summit team!
When I made our appointments, I explained our insurance coverage and that our preventative annual skin review was covered at 100 percent by our medical insurance provider (Aetna), and asked if that was something they accepted and would submit as preventative. I was told yes, absolutely no problem. We then received our invoices totalling $360.44. Their billing is done with a third party processor (West Coast Dermatology Billing), and is extremely frustrating to work with. I've been calling several times since April, and you can not speak to anyone directly from Summit. They submitted the billing as an 'Outpatient New Visit' at $170 each. My insurance provider explained it as basically them charging to input the personal information we provide. They would not correct the billing to preventative care. We will not be going back!!
