Today I went there for an appointment. Upon arrival I was asked for my insurance card. I gave them my Medicare and Medicaid cards and was told that I could not be seen today. It was explained to me that due to a change in their system, they were not taking Medicaid until they updated their system. They then tried to explain that they had too many patients to call and try to reschedule with the same situation . But what I don’t understand is that at the beginning of the week if you know who’s coming in, and you know you have a problem with your system why would you not check the chart to see what insurance they have? I just don’t understand why it is that the people who have Medicaid are not as important as everyone else? Is our time not as valuable? Should it not be as important that maybe we had to take time off from work, or maybe we had to take an early lunch? What about a person that may had to schedule a babysitter? Just because we have State funded insurance does not mean that we are not as important? Poorly done!!!!
