What happened to Geisinger!!! It used to be a great place to go. Now, you're just a number (a bunch of cattle), or is it just because they got bought out. I don't know. I just got an appointment for my son, and less than 15 minutes later, they called back, but i missed the call. They changed the appointment while I was making arrangements to leave work early and calling the school to get him out. Now I'm talking to appointments again and starting over. Wow, this is frustrating. I liked it when it seemed personal. Dr. Dedeoglu was one of the best and very personal with his patients. I don't know all the doctors, but he was one of the best.
Geisinger decided that my life was not worth a $5 bottle of Warfarin, and canceled the medication used to save my life- without my knowledge or permission. I only found out when I went to pick up my medication that it wasn't there. I was able to call a number and was told I can still get the medication, but because of my work hours, I was not able to determine if this was the case. Please be careful, everyone. If they can do it to me they can do it to anyone.
Feels very much like me and my children are treated like numbers by this health system. While there have been a few great doctors, several were gone too soon, replaced by an individual who didn't seem as interested or competent. The women's health is a shining example of this. I haven't had the same provider ever. How can one receive proper care when each provider is just meeting her and becoming familiar with her situation THAT visit? Additionally, their billing practices are shady. Don't expect procedural codes on the bills they mail to you. It is expected that YOU will do your due diligence and look up the bill in your mygeisinger account instead. I was helpfully told that is where you can find those codes. I imagine because you the patient have all the time in the world for those extra steps. Geisinger need not offer better customer service and add the coding on the bills they mail. And depending on one's insurance, don't expect to pay a copay at the time of your visit or be able to have a payment applied to that particular visit in order to keep your own records straight. Some offices, radiology is one, can apply a payment where you ask. But don't request pediatrics or general medicine for this service. You might spend 20 minutes with staff trying to accomplish this and still be unable to. Management seems to have conveniently omitted this option for offices receiving sick or well care.
I'm in Arkansas visiting family for the holidays and came down with Covid. Both my wife and I have Geisinger Insurance. We called numerous times (at least 6) over a 2 day period for Geisinger to send a prescription to the local pharmacy. No Results. On day 3, a nurse called and said it was really too late to get a prescription. So disappointed with this service. Not sure why we need Geisinger Insurance since no one seems to care about there members.
i feel like most of these doctors just don’t care about their patients. i am constantly sick both physically and mentally but when i go in and see the doctors, they just say a few words, do normal stuff like check your weight and temp, sometimes check your nose and your mouth and then send you off. i just wish there was a doctor here that could help me because i’m under 18 so i can’t switch the office i go to.
