Wendell L. Funk, MD

Three years ago Dr. Funk performed plastic surgery on me. When i was an infant, I had a cyst in my abdomen that required an emergency surgery, where I was cut across my midsection. As I grew the scar was ugly. It attached to parts of my ribcage in two places. Since I was a little boy, I never swam or walked around in front of others shirtless… even my parents. Dr Funk cut the scar away and replaced it. I still have a big scar across my torso, but it’s flat and even and so much more appealing to me. It really changed my life, and I’m eternally grateful for it. Everyone there was wonderful.

I had a surgery done around 15 yrs ago by Doctor Funk. He was extremely kind and honest. I have always been pleased with the work he did and never had any complications. I'm planning to contact him for a future surgery. After I received my cosmetic surgery from Doctor Funk I had to do follow up appointments. About 4 weeks into the follow up appointments, I had to have emergency surgery for a lung collapse. The Doctor that performed that surgery left a mess of wounds on my side. When I was finally able to go back to continue my follow ups with Doctor Funk, He took one look at my side and became extremely upset when he seen what the other Doctor did. Doctor Funk was so kind and helped me with cleaning up those wounds to prevent extreme scaring and infections. Not only did he do check ups on the surgery he personally performed but he also continued to check on the healing process on the side of lung from the emergency surgery the other Doctor did. I have always been grateful for the extra mile Doctor Funk went and I will never forget his kindness. He wasn't responsible for those wounds yet he went out of his way to help.

I had the same experience as the review mentioned before in regards to the receptionist. I scheduled my consultation anyway. Dr Funk was very rude he was more concern with profiling me than explaining the procedure to me. No pictures were taken. He chatted for however long out in the hallway about his upcoming vacation and then rushed me. He dedicated about 10min to me and still charged me $100. The assistant that set up the room was nice and I could tell she was embarrassed for the way he treated me.

I am so disappointed. I just called this office to see if they could help my little girl. She has 3 decent sized warts around her mouth. She is very self conscious of them. Her doc does not want to take them off because he is afraid he will scare her. I called and asked the receptionist if they could help. She asked what insurance I had, and I told her. She said they don't take insurance anyway and the office visit will be $100. I said that was fine. She than proceeded to tell me that there would be anesthesia involved and it would be a hospital visit and would be out of pocket. It's like she was saying everything she could to discourage me from making an appointment with the practice. I probably wouldn't be able to afford all of that so I hang up the phone with her. As I am ready to close down the website I notice that they can set up payment arrangements. She certainly didn't tell me about that. I must say, I am rather disappointed by the way I was treated.

Rude! Just worried about money.
