Went there for an annual for the first time last Tuesday and was given 3 prescriptions. Called immediately when 2 of them weren’t covered and left a message to ask for replacements. No response. Called on Thursday and receptionist sent me to a full voicemail at 11:30 in the morning. Called again and spoke to Linda. She said there are over the counter options so I asked to see if Cameron can prescribe something else so it’s covered by my insurance. Linda suddenly says I don’t need to talk to her that way???? and now I’m annoyed because explaining why I can’t afford the over the counter versions was somehow was rude? My name is Sharon, not Karen and I know you get more bees with honey. She had nothing to say when I asked how I was rude, and I asked her to speak to Cameron and have anyone but her call me back. No response. Today (Tuesday) I leave another message and ask to speak to the office manager and Cameron’s medical assistant called me back. He told me Cameron was still thinking about it and that’s why no one called back, that they are very busy, trying to tell me that a full voicemail on the nurse’s line at 11:30 is acceptable. I asked what Linda’s title is and he said he can’t give them information out, like I asked for her last name and home address. So I said fine, I’ll talk to the office manager. He tells me that the office manager isn’t there that often and would only give an email. Her name I think is Alicia, but it’s time for a review when they make a medical assistant (who was able to give me his title?) return a call to a patient that was ignored for a week. No one was even remotely apologetic for dropping the ball. I worked in a medical office and titles are not confidential or protected by HIPAA. If you don’t have a full-time office manager, that explains why everything outside of the exam room is a disaster. Suddenly, Cameron is available to speak to me directly, gets on the phone despite me retelling the person I just wanted the office manager since I’m simply done at this point. She tells me that there are no alternatives because they are over-the-counter options, which is all I was asking about for a week. I guess Cameron figured out that there is no alternative in a matter of two minutes after a whole week. Never going back. God forbid I actually had a serious problem. I think Waccamaw dermatology took this over from another doctor, so perhaps the amazing reviews are from the previous practice.
Took my dad for his appt and they gave us the wrong address. We kept looking for the location and the phone service took forever to pick up when we called to make sure the address we were given was correct (obviously it was not.) The person on the phone service end was nice and clear once they did answer, but once we arrived it all went downhill. Extremely rude staff at the desk who wouldn’t see my father because we were 15 minutes late due to THEIR mistake that they said they can do nothing about. YOU ARE CONFIRMING AN APPT THROUGH TEXT MESSAGE OVER AND OVER WITH THE WRONG ADDRESS. IT’S A SIMPLE CORRECTION. Seems like we’re not the only ones this happened to based on reviews. What an absent-minded run office.
Not good at all. The two front desk females acted like 10-year-olds trying to take care of adults. Laughing and very disruptive in the waiting area and I let the PA in the back know. When I went back the second time I guess they were not to happy with me and I felt very uncomfortable there .The third visit wasn't good any better. I was around 10 to 15 minutes late due to traffic. l was refused to be seen even though there were very few patients in the lobby. Now they're trying to get $50 out of me for being "late" but it won't happen. The office at Myrtle Beach is absolutely wonderful, everyone I met there made me feel so comfortable. The front desk Manager is absolutely phenomenal. They make you feel very comfortable. I definitely would not go back to South Strand.
Wonderful experience! Everyone was happy, welcoming, and never made you feel rushed. I wish all doctor offices were run like this one. Great job everyone!
Dr Bi is compassionate, caring and did not rush through the appointment. Maddison (her PA) is equally caring and knowledgeable. They are a super team and recommend them highly.
