SummitMD Dermatology Gatesville

I have going here for 3+ years and the Waco office. Ashley has been extremely helpful and her team!! The front desk is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, the team in the back always make me feel welcomed and always help me understand my situation. I will always be going to SummitMD ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My experience at Summit Dermatology has not been stellar. I took off one star because I have had the worst luck with scheduling--appointments are extremely limited during the week (only certain days or limited times of day during the week). I tried to make an appointment, but they were booked a whole month out. Then something came up, they called me to reschedule, and we had to move my appointment a whole other month into the future. Then it is a finally few days before my appointment, and they called again to move my appointment, but this time to their Gatesville office which is an entire hour away. Alternately, they could have kept my appointment in Temple, but it would have pushed my appointment a whole other month yet again. I subtracted another star because they could not provide a remedy to a problem that their office caused and could not charge it to my insurance. The remedy they "prescribed" was something I had to pay out of pocket for, over the counter, at a pharmacy. My insurance wasn't going to cover it that way. And I subtracted a third star because their receptionist (at the Gatesville office) wouldn't even give eye contact the entire time I was at the desk. Instead of feeling like a valued patient at their clinic, I felt like I was interrupting something important she was doing. When she gave me the appointment card and dismissed me, I had to turn back around and let her know that making eye contact is kinda key to helping the patient feel welcome in their clinic. It was really awkward, and I didn't enjoy my experience there. I have to go back again, which I'm not super thrilled about. Edited to add: a month later and I got a call again to reschedule. I missed the call (I was teaching at the time) but called them back and left a message… it’s been an entire week and they haven’t called me back. I removed another star for that. Edited again: it’s been at least six months since my last update, and they still have not called me back to reschedule the appointment they canceled. I’m assuming they just dropped me entirely as a patient, TBH. Perhaps some team training and getting their facility in order might help in the future. Until then, I cannot recommend this facility.

I have visited this clinic once and had no problems. I got an appointment right away with no rescheduling. I went in early, as requested (since I was a new patient) and was seen within a reasonable time. I have a follow-up appointment in a couple of weeks. I have no complaints about the clinic or personnel.

Communication with the team is difficult. Nutter MD is so kind and attentive. The front desk personnel are all very professional and kind. I only took off two stars because communication is not the best .

I love going to this facility for my treatment. Everyone treats me so special. Ashly Nutter is so understanding, caring and knowledgeable on my issues. I’m so pleased.
