Don’t go to this place if you have melasma. I was seen by a nurse practitioner instead of a dermatologist. She recommended a laser treatment that ended up making my melasma three times worse. I later sent her a message expressing my concerns, mentioning that I had read laser treatments aren’t recommended during the summer and that lightening creams shouldn’t be used for more than three months due to potential side effects. She ignored my concerns and insisted that I continue with the treatment. As soon as I stopped using the prescribed topical cream, my melasma came back even darker. Worse, the areas where she had used the laser, where I previously had no issues, became covered in dark patches resembling melasma. Concerned, I consulted another dermatologist, who confirmed my suspicions: the type of laser she used was not recommended for my condition and could actually worsen it, which is precisely what happened to me.
