I went in originally to see about getting a mark on my face removed. I thought it was a scar from maybe using a blackhead remover tool a little too aggressively. Doctor Swinyer examined it closely and said, "I think that might be a Carcinoma." This threw me for a loop. I hadn't even considered that as a possibility. A biopsy was taken and sent for analysis. It came back positive for Basal Cell Carcinoma. I was promptly scheduled to undergo Mohs Surgery to remove the cancer. I was scheduled with Dr. Yates on January 16th, 2025. I had been doing some homework to familiarize myself with Mohs Surgery and needly to say, I was nervous. The spot on my face had been there for years and I thought, "What if it's one of those 'tip of the iceberg' situations and I'm going to lose a large chunk of my cheek???" Only time would tell. The day of the appointment arrived and I was taken back to the room for the procedure with very minimal waiting (this was an early 7:00 am appointment). Dr. Yates came in and the procedure was started. He was very good with the numbing medication and he used his off-hand to vibrate my cheek to trick my brain into feeling less pain during the injections. I was pleased with the minimal pain that was felt. After numbness set in, the excision of the defect was performed. An oval a little smaller than a dime, I would say. I was bandaged up and awaited the results of the testing. Dr. Yates came back in about 25 minutes later and I have to say, the look on his face gave me the impression, "We're going to need to take more skin." But I was thrilled to hear him utter the words, "Your margins are all clear." I nearly started tearing up because I was so sure I was going to need more excisions since the mark had been on my face for years. Dr. Yates numbed me up again and very carefully drew the lines around the wound to convert the oval into a football shape. I could tell he was very conscientious of preserving as much healthy skin as possible and was making the scar on my face as small as possible. I was sewn up and done all within an hour. I was thrilled that it had gone so well. I was diligent with post-operative wound care and I had my stitches removed 1 week later on January 23, 2025. The photos provided of me laying in the chair and the final photo are only 1 week apart. As you can see, the wound on my face is barely perceivable after even a week. I want to personally thank everyone at Swinyer-Woseth for an outstanding job on discovering my cancer and so promptly getting it removed. I'm sure I will need further skin treatments in my life and I plan to keep coming back as needed. THANK YOU!
It was very easy to set an appointment with the doctor. He was able to remove a cyst from my neck. Everything was smooth sailing. The doctor had to work harder because the cyst had ruptured and was a mess to clean up. When I had the stitches removed. That was seamless. I was brought back by the person that removed the stitches. I sat down she explained what she was going to do. It took only a few minutes to remove and out the office I was.
Doctor Hadji has been absolutely wonderful. She is knowledgeable and truly cares for her patients. All of the staff have been attentive and helpful as well. I have come in with a few different issues and have received thoughtful advice and assistance.
It’s all about the money here. I was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma on my face. I had a lot of concerns but had a challenging time getting any answers. I was told not to ask about other places on my face the days of my Mohs surgery. but to make another appointment. I Was told they only get 50 percent of the payment if they did another procedure on the same day. I’m a licensed healthcare worker and know all about E and M coding. I came back for two other sites on my face that would not heal and was treated like I was just a worry wart. The PA was condescending. One biopsy turned out to be another precancerous lesion. I was glad I followed my gut and pushed for the biopsies. Found another dermatologist, and his bedside manner was totally the opposite. I’m so thankful for the treatment and the reassurance he gave me. Move on. These guys care more about the money than the patient.
Love Dr Hadji, she is so professional. She makes me feel super comfortable and so friendly. It was pretty cold in the office, especially when wearing only a sheet. The heat needs to be turned up quite a bit.
