South Jordan Health Center

I was apprehensive scheduling an appointment with my doctor at this location given some of the less than stellar reviews. Since I was able to schedule my appointment much sooner at this facility I decided to roll the dice. My experience was outstanding. I arrived 35 minutes before my appointment time and had already done my online check-in beforehand through the university's MyChart app. Parking was crowded but I was able to immediately find an open space to park and went inside. (Got to love perfect timing). There was an obvious University Health Center greeter just inside the door who asked me if I needed help finding directions. I asked her where The specialty office for my care was and she directed me immediately with clear directions. I arrived at the check-in desk where they greeted me pleasantly and asked me if I was there for an appointment to which I said Yes. They asked me my name, date of birth, and home address. Once they confirmed me in the system they directed me immediately to the waiting area for my specialty. I went down the hall, took a seat on some very comfortable chairs with a very nice view out the windows and waired for approximately 5 minutes before someone came out and asked for me. This was 25 minutes before my actual scheduled appointment time! The Medical assistant was very pleasant and took me back to the exam room where she took my vitals in a very cheerful manner and told me the PA would be in momentarily. The PA came in and did her work efficiently. She very pleasantly answered all of my questions and was very thorough in her responses. After finishing her work, she said she would send a scheduler back to schedule my surgery. The scheduler came in in less than 3 minutes from the time the PA left the room and I was scheduled with my surgery appointment and sitting in my car writing this review only 5 minutes after my original appointment time. So the time from me walking in the front door to having a scheduled surgery was 35 minutes. Probably the quickest and easiest medical appointment I have had in my recent memory. The location is beautiful and in the Daybreak South Jordan Business center. The building is new, modern, and very clean. The furniture is comfortable and there are plenty of outlets to plug in and charge devices... I was actually expecting to spend much more time there and was somewhat disappointed that I wasn't able to use the facilities to get some work done while away from my home office. But since it was so quick, I can now get back home to my home office and grab something hot to drink while I finish out the rest of my work day. I actually had a choice between having surgery at the University medical Center or here at the South Jordan Health Center. Because of my experience, I have scheduled my surgery here in the outpatient surgery center.

Dr. Hurst is an exceptional doctor. In my 38 years, he stands out as the best I've ever encountered, and I genuinely believe he is among the best in the field. Dr Hurst LISTENS to his patients, he is kind and empathetic. Unlike some doctors who discourage patients from doing their own research, Dr. Hurst seems to trust that I know my body and provides me with the help I need to get feeling better. We need not only more doctors like him but also more compassionate individuals like Dr Hurst in the world. His care and concern for his patients, is like no other and a five star review is an under-rating.

I had a great experience with Dr. Iliana Thornton in General Surgery. She was incredibly helpful in explaining the next steps of my treatment, making sure I fully understood everything and felt comfortable moving forward. Her professionalism and bedside manner were exceptional, and she truly cares about her patients. The office staff was also friendly and efficient, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend Dr. Thornton to anyone in need of a skilled and compassionate surgeon!

Dr. Smith was very attentive and kind. He referred me to treatment. And although I was expecting an ultrasound he put in a CT request to be more thorough. I have seen easily hundreds of doctors in my lifetime and he hands down had the best personality and candor. Funny, open and real I wish he worked primary care

I’ve been to a lot of urologists and the only one that’s actually been helpful and attentive has been Dr John P Smith. In the 2 years I’ve been dealing with my issues, only Dr Smith actually listened to my issues, didn’t push me off for further appointments and helped me put together a plan without any nonsense. Thank you Dr. Smith for giving a damn.
